Welcome,
Dear one.
This is your time to unwind,
To slow down,
And to welcome gratitude into your heart before you drift into sleep.
Take a deep breath in,
And a slow gentle breath out.
Allow your body to settle into softness beneath you.
Feel the weight of your body being held,
Supported.
Let your shoulders drop.
Relax your jaw.
Soften the space between your brows.
There is nowhere else you need to be right now.
Just here,
Just resting.
Let's take a few calming breaths together.
Inhale slowly for four.
Hold for two.
Exhale for six.
Again,
Inhale for four.
Hold for two.
Exhale for six.
Hold for two.
And one more time.
Inhale,
And exhale.
Letting the day melt away.
As your body settles deeper into comfort,
Bring to mind one thing from today you are grateful for.
It might be something small.
A warm cup of tea or coffee,
A kind word,
A quiet moment,
Or even simply the fact that you made it through the day.
Let the feeling of appreciation gently expand.
Imagine it as a warm light in your chest.
Peaceful.
Now bring to mind one person you are grateful for.
Someone who has brought love,
Support,
Or simply presence into your life.
Let your heart soften as you think of them.
Finally,
Bring gratitude to yourself for showing up today in the best way you could,
For trying,
For caring,
For being here now.
Let that gratitude wash through you.
Bring ease and warmth.
Feel your breath becoming slower,
Your body heavier.
Your mind softer.
Every exhale carries away tension.
Every inhale brings in peace.
You are safe.
You are supported.
You are allowed to rest.
Imagine a gentle wave of relaxation flowing from the top of your head down through your shoulders,
Your chest,
Your abdomen,
Your legs,
All the way to your toes.
Let yourself sink a little deeper.
As you move towards sleep,
Carry this gratitude with you.
Let it soften your dreams,
Calm your thoughts,
And guide you gently into deep rest.
If you enjoyed this practice,
I've created an hour-long sleep meditation,
Drift Deeper Every Night,
To help you sleep deeper every night.
You can find it on my profile.
May you rest peacefully tonight.
May your heart be light,
And may sleep come easily and sweetly.
This is Caroline Wallace from the peace within me to the peace within you.
Namaste.
