Welcome to this moment of calm.
If the world feels heavy right now,
Let this be a place where you can set some of that weight down for a little while.
Find a comfortable position.
Let your body feel supported.
If it feels right,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and release it gently through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale deeply and exhale slowly.
One more time,
Breathing in steadiness.
And breathing out some of the heaviness you've been carrying.
There is so much information now.
So many headlines,
Updates,
Voices asking for your attention,
Your reaction,
Your concern.
And if you care deeply,
It can be hard to know where to place your heart.
This moment is not about becoming indifferent.
It's not about shutting down your compassion.
It's about giving your nervous system a chance to breathe.
Notice where the weight of the world has landed in your body.
Maybe it lives in your chest.
Maybe in your throat.
Maybe in your shoulders or your jaw,
Your stomach,
Your thoughts.
Without needing it to change,
Just notice.
Take another breath in and imagine sending space to that place.
Exhale and let your edges soften.
Inhale,
Creating room around the heaviness and exhale,
Letting your body know it does not have to hold everything so tightly right now.
You are one human being,
A caring one,
A feeling one,
But still one human being.
You were never meant to carry the full sorrow of the world inside one nervous system.
Let that truth land gently.
Now imagine all that noise around you begin to lower in volume.
Not disappearing completely,
Just softening.
Like turning down many radios in different rooms.
The headlines fade to the background.
The scrolling slows.
The urgency loosens.
And in their place,
You begin to notice what is right here,
Right now.
The steady ground beneath you,
The air entering and leaving your lungs,
The quiet rise and fall of your chest.
The fact that this moment is asking only one thing of you,
To be here.
Take a breath in and silently say,
Right now I am here.
Exhale and say,
Right now I can breathe.
Again,
Breathe in,
Right now I am here.
Breathe out,
Right now I can breathe.
Let your awareness settle in the present moment,
Even if the larger world feels uncertain.
This breath matters.
This body matters.
This pause matters.
You don't have to consume every update to prove that you care.
You don't have to stay flooded in order to stay compassionate.
You are allowed to protect your peace and remain a loving person.
Take another slow breath in and imagine drawing your energy back from the noise.
Exhale and let it return to your center.
Breathe in,
Gathering yourself,
And breathe out,
Returning home to yourself.
If it helps,
Place a hand over your heart and repeat softly,
I can care without carrying it all.
I can stay informed without staying overwhelmed.
I can return to peace and still remain compassionate.
Rest with those words for a moment.
Feel your body soften.
Feel your mind becoming a little less crowded.
Feel the present moment holding you without asking for more.
Take one final nourishing inhale and a long grounding exhale.
Gently begin to bring movement back to your fingers,
Your toes,
Your shoulders.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Carry this with you.
Caring for your nervous system is not turning away from the world.
It is one of the ways you stay steady enough to meet it.
Namaste.
