You’re invited to join me for a mindfulness of sounds practice - recorded live in my garden here in Melbourne, at dawn. This meditation invites you to listen to the orchestra of nature and city life interwoven. The practice begins with around four minutes of gentle guidance to help you settle in, followed by three minutes of listening as the unedited soundscape unfolds. You may hear rainbow lorikeets, a crow, red wattlebirds, the hum of cars, a passing tram, the wind through the trees, and even the gentle thud of a branch falling on the roof. We’ll finish with a short closing reflection to return you gently to your own space. This is an invitation to meet each sound as it is - pleasant or less pleasant - and to discover how every note belongs to the living symphony around us. Thank you so much for joining me for this practice. I’d love to hear how many birds you were able to identify! With gratitude to David Kevork for the beautiful track image via Pixabay.
