Welcome.
If life has felt a little loud lately,
A little heavy,
A little pressurized,
You're not doing anything wrong.
Being a teenager means your brain is growing rapidly,
Your emotions are stronger,
Your relationships matter more than ever,
And your body reacts faster than your thinking brain sometimes.
That's not weakness,
That's biology.
Today we're going to slow it down,
Not to fix you,
But to steady you.
Find a position that feels comfortable.
You can sit upright or you can lay down.
Let your hands rest somewhere easy.
Now take one slow breath in through your nose,
And an even longer breath out through your mouth.

Good.
When pressure builds from school,
Parents,
Friends,
Social media,
Your nervous system shifts into protection mode.
You might get irritated,
Snappy,
Overwhelmed,
Or you might shut down and go quiet.
Right now,
Just notice.
Are you feeling wired or tired?
No judgment,
Just information.
Now let's take another slow breath in to the count of 5.

Longer exhales tell your body you're safe.
Now bring to mind something mildly stressful from the past few days.
Not the worst thing,
Just something that's been sitting in the background.
Maybe a conversation,
A grade,
A friendship tension.
Notice what happens in your body.
Does your chest tighten?
Does your stomach clench?
Do your shoulders rise?
Instead of pushing that away,
See if you can stay with it gently.
Place one hand on your chest or stomach if that feels okay,
And breathe.
Inhale.

Say quietly in your mind,
This is hard right now.
Not dramatic,
Not minimizing,
Just honest.
This is hard right now.
Pause.
Now add,
And I can handle it.
Because you can.
Your brain is still building the part that helps you pause and plan.
But every time you breathe instead of explode,
Every time you pause instead of text something reactive,
Every time you take space instead of escalating,
You strengthen that part.
Take another slow breath.

Now imagine someone in your life,
A friend,
A parent,
A teacher,
Who has also been stressed lately.
You don't have to agree with them,
You don't have to like their behavior,
Just recognize they have a nervous system too.
And sometimes people react from pressure,
Just like you do.
Take one breath in for yourself,
And one breath out imagining a little bit more steadiness in that relationship.
Not fixing it,
Just softening it.
Now come back to your body,
Feel your feet,
Feel the surface beneath you.
Take one more slow inhale.

Here's the truth.
Pressure is part of growing.
But being hard on yourself doesn't make you stronger.
Steadiness does.
Kindness does.
Pausing does.
You're not behind and you're not broken.
You are building.
And every time you reset like this,
You expand your ability to handle life and relationships.
Take one last breath in real deep.
.
.
And slowly breathe out.
When you're ready,
Gently allow your eyes to open and carry a little more steadiness within you into your day.
