The Knowing Without Words We live much of our lives through language - naming, interpreting, comparing, remembering and anticipating. But what is present before the mind gives experience a name, before the mind has time to interpret, to focus? This meditation invites you to explore the knowing that is already present before words arise. Not by trying to stop thought, but by becoming aware of what remains when the mind becomes quiet, behind the arrival of thoughts. As silence becomes more familiar in meditation, we may begin to recognize that awareness does not need language to be present. It does not need to explain itself, define itself or become something. There is simply a knowing... This is an invitation to rest in silence, stillness, presence and awareness, and to discover directly what has never needed words. Knowing without words.
