Hello again,
Welcome.
This video is called the dissolving of me living in the world.
What if I mistook where I am?
Not where I think I am,
But where I actually am.
It seems so obvious from what I believe that I am here.
And life is happening around me.
I'm living life as it unfolds.
One experience after another.
One moment after another.
And yet.
.
.
What if the way I have understood where I am has never actually been questioned.
I see myself as living in the world.
There is me living this next experience.
And there is the world in which I live.
I am here and life and the world are out there.
And from this viewpoint,
Life can appear to be something separate from me.
Something I have to navigate.
To respond to,
To understand.
And sometimes to protect myself from.
And perhaps this is where the apparent sense of division or separateness is felt.
We have divided life into what is liked,
What is disliked.
What is happening?
What is not happening?
What we want or what we don't want,
What is here and what is there.
But what if this sense of separation itself?
Is built upon the assumption that there is a separate identity of a me-self living a life.
Now rather than answering this based on another conditioned belief,
Look closely.
Right now,
Where are you?
Not where your mind tells you where you are,
Through your name,
Your family,
Your location.
Or your body.
But where is the me that is supposedly living within all of this?
Again look closely.
There is seeing,
There is hearing,
Sensations,
Thoughts.
Feelings the very movements of life itself.
And all of this is being experienced.
But by what?
What is it that is aware of all of this?
Is it a me?
Or is there actually?
A separate me doing the seeing,
Experiencing,
Or feelings.
Or is there simply an all-embracing unseen presence?
Prior to all of one's experiencing.
Aware of a scene.
Aware of hearing,
Aware of sensations.
Aware of thoughts.
A way of feelings.
One's awareness without a separate me-self,
In a separate position from which to experienced life.
But when we look more intimately.
Can you actually find where the supposed me ends?
And life begins.
Not as an idea,
Not philosophically,
Simply in your direct personal experiencing.
And as you look more intimately,
Perhaps something here begins to become clear.
The me that seemed to have an identity separate from life.
Cannot actually be found.
It has no location,
No position.
And if there is no separate me located apart from life,
Then what is it that life is separate from?
What is this world that I have believed I am living in?
It is still here,
It's beauty,
It's dramas.
Its diversity,
Its creativity,
The movements of life itself.
Nothing has disappeared.
What has changed is the assumption of where I am in relationship to it.
There is no longer a me here and a life over there.
There is simply one inseparable awareness.
Life in all of its unique expressions appearing within it.
Not separate from awareness,
But as its living expression.
And we are all unique expressions of this one inseparable awareness.
Unique expressions of the One Wholeness.
Not separate entities.
So what changes when the sense of being a separate someone begins to dissolve.
Life is still happening.
There are choices to be made,
Relationships,
Responsibilities.
Joys,
Sorrows,
Disappointments.
Pain.
But there is no longer the same sense of someone standing apart from it all.
No one resisting or trying to make life happen.
In a particular way.
Experience is simply happening continuously all around you.
Life is being lived.
Without the same sense of someone living it.
Separate from it.
And perhaps this is where something very ordinary becomes remarkably extraordinary.
There is no longer a constant need to remain the center within what is happening.
No need to ask,
Where do I fit in?
Because there is no longer a separate me that needs to find its place within life.
And without this constant positioning.
There can be a dynamic and spontaneous appreciation and intimacy.
Of what we know as life.
Nothing has to be kept at a distance in order for there to be a real sense of beauty or safety.
Nothing has to be approved or rejected in order to know what I am.
Nothing has to be possessed in order to feel that I belong.
Life can now simply be what it is.
In this moment.
This experience,
This expression.
This wonder,
Without the need to make it mean something about me or centered around me.
And perhaps this is why so much of what we call personal experience can now begin to soften and open.
No more need to defend,
To compare,
To prove,
To become,
To hold on to what I believe I am.
Not because these feelings are being deliberately stopped.
But because the someone who needed them to define itself is no longer being found in the same way.
There is simply this,
This aliveness.
Life unfolding.
Without needing it to be owned by a me.
And one's awareness does not stand apart from any of it.
It is not watching live from somewhere else.
It is the openness in which life is appearing spontaneously and effortlessly.
So life itself is not other than this awareness.
This particular life,
This particular body.
This particular expression of life is not separate from the whole.
It is the whole,
Appearing uniquely here,
Now.
There is simply life appearing.
As this particular expression of the impersonal you.
In this now.
