Hello again,
Welcome.
This video is called seeing without me.
What would it be like to see life without the filter of me?
It may seem that we simply see what is happening,
But do we?
Or are we seeing through everything we have accumulated in life?
Our memories,
Our beliefs,
Through our desires,
Fears,
Our preferences,
Or our expectations.
Something happens and almost immediately the mind interprets it in relation to me,
My experience,
My feelings,
My success,
My future,
My past.
Almost everything is drawn into the belief of this idea of me.
And once experience has been claimed by me,
Comparison naturally follows.
This is better.
That is worse.
Oh,
I like this.
Oh,
I don't like that.
This should be happening.
That shouldn't be happening.
And then there is judgment,
Judgment of what is happening.
But notice something.
Is awareness itself doing any of this?
Does awareness compare?
Does awareness judge?
Does awareness categorize what is arising as good or bad?
Right or wrong,
Acceptable or unacceptable.
Or does awareness simply know what is here in the immediacy of now?
Perhaps a sound,
A sensation.
A thought,
An emotion,
Some movement.
A moment of silence or peace.
Just what is present.
There is something very simple here.
Awareness does not need to interfere with experience in order to be aware of it.
It does not need to interpret it.
It does not need to make it mean something.
It simply allows what is here.
To be here.
And this is very different from indifference,
Quite the opposite.
When the constant interference of me begins to soften.
Life can actually come,
Become closer,
More intimate.
Open,
Unlabeled and spontaneous.
A sound is simply a sound.
A sensation is a sensation.
An emotion is an emotion.
Is simply an experience or an emotion.
A difficult moment is simply an experience of a difficult moment.
An experience has no longer immediately turned into something about me.
This is why life can begin to feel more alive.
And notice.
This does not require getting rid of the ego.
It does not require destroying the me.
It does not require trying to transcend yourself.
All that is happening simply is as it is in any given moment,
Any given experience.
The mind says,
I am this.
This happened to me.
This is who I am.
This is what I need.
This is what I must protect.
And then it creates strategies to maintain this image,
To defend it,
To improve it.
To protect it.
To make itself superior or inferior.
But superiority and inferiority are simply opposite ends of the same movement.
Both depend upon a separate me comparing itself with something else.
Awareness has no need to do this.
So the invitation is not to get rid of me.
But simply to stop feeding the movement towards me.
Whenever it is seen.
A thought arises.
A feeling arises.
Irritations arise.
Resistance arises.
The impulse to judge arises.
See it.
But don't automatically claim it or follow it to its conclusion.
This is important because the movement may say this shouldn't be happening.
I have to stop this.
Something is wrong with me.
Something is wrong with them.
Something is wrong with the world.
But what if there is no need to arrive at that conclusion?
What if there can simply be a soft deepening awareness?
Before the mind turns to what is happening.
Before it turns it into a story about me.
Someone says something like you don't like a reaction arises.
Can the reaction simply be known?
Without immediately creating a story about the other person or about yourself?
Not forcing,
Not controlling,
Not suppressing.
Simply seeing as it is.
Remaining quietly aware.
There may still be a natural response.
There may be a chance to say yes or no.
A boundary may be needed.
Something may need to change.
But now,
The response does not have to come from judgment.
It can come from clear seeing.
And clear seeing has its own intelligence.
It knows when to move.
It knows when to stop.
It knows when to speak.
It knows when to remain silent.
So long.
There is no need to manufacture discernment.
When the filter of me becomes quieter,
Seeing itself becomes clearer.
And something else becomes apparent.
When there is less separation between oneself and life,
Love does not have to be created.
It simply becomes more apparent.
Not love as a feeling that comes and goes,
Not love as liking everyone,
And not love as agreeing with everyone.
But something much quieter,
A natural absence of separation.
Life is allowed to be as it is.
Different people are allowed to be different.
Different views are allowed to exist.
Different experiences are allowed to arise.
There is no need to divide everything into what belongs on my side.
And what belongs on the other side.
The diversity of life does not disappear.
It is simply no longer being used to create a separate centre.
And perhaps this is the deeper meaning of letting life be.
It isn't allowing something outside yourself to exist.
It is recognizing that experience is already here before me comes to claim it.
Before the label,
Before the judgment.
Before the comparison,
Before the story.
There is simply this living moment.
An awareness is already present.
Already here.
Open and undivided.
So the next time something arises that you don't like,
Before judging it,
Before resisting it,
Before deciding what it means about you,
Perhaps simply look.
Can it be experienced without immediately becoming my experience?
Can there be a soft inner gaze and nothing more?
No fixing,
No becoming,
No getting rid of anything.
Just quiet seeing.
And perhaps in that simple scene,
The scene to call me doesn't have to be destroyed.
Simply becomes less important.
It softens.
And as it softens,
The distance between you and life begins to disappear.
Life is no longer something happening to you.
It is simply life,
Appearing,
Moving,
Changing.
Right here.
And perhaps this is what it means to see without the filter of me.
Not seeing something special,
Not becoming someone different.
Simply allowing what is here.
To be seen as it is,
Without making it anything more or anything less.
Now.
This video has a companion video,
And that companion video is called The Me and Mine We Never Question.
Now,
That is an approved video.
Video published already and that is another reference to you on the subject of me and mine.
Blessings to you.
