This peaceful meditation is an invitation to pause before any effort to grow, improve, or become more spiritual. There is nothing to achieve here — only a quiet returning, a recognition of one's still presence. Through soft guidance and spacious pauses, you are invited to rest as you are, allowing breath, sensation, and awareness to unfold naturally. No experience is required, and nothing needs to change. A calm, welcoming space to arrive exactly where you are… before practice begins.

Before the idea of being spiritual,

Take a moment to pause,

To be silent.

In this space there is nothing to do and nothing to be.

You are simply here,

Still.

Now take a long,

Relaxed breath in,

Then pause,

And a long,

Gentle breath out,

Then pause.

Allow your breathing to settle into its own natural,

Relaxed rhythm.

Stay here with the breath for a few moments.

Bring your awareness now to the immediacy of simply being,

Fully here,

Open and present in this moment.

Many are seeking and many are on a spiritual path,

Actively wanting a deeper connection,

Clarity,

Purpose,

Meaning and inner peace.

Individual practices pointing to the search for freedom and lasting fulfilment is timeless.

And through this journey,

The belief commonly held is that time and effort are required to realise these aspirations.

Feelings of,

I need to focus on my spiritual development in order to make lasting progress as a seeker,

To search for what will bring deeper understanding and purpose.

Now,

In this present moment,

The thoughts of one's spiritual growth are already known to one's unborn awareness,

The unmoving background behind all seeing,

Thinking and doing.

Without pushing any spiritually focused pursuits aside,

Quietly ask yourself,

In reality,

Do I need to become a spiritual person in order to find peace or happiness?

Or am I simply following the advertising,

The stories,

Labels and practices that seem to be endlessly advertised,

Spoken of and written about?

All the while,

In one's silent background,

Everything is clearly seen and known within one's timeless unseen presence of abiding awareness.

And you are aware that the intentions here create an image of personal identity of someone seeking someone being more spiritual.

And silently behind all,

Within one's imperturbable awareness,

No effort is exerted,

No belief is adopted,

Nothing external is present.

One's infinite,

Formless and timeless awareness is present,

Calm and still,

At peace and in flow with all that unfolds.

One's wisdom awareness is not a concept,

Not an identity and not a belief.

It is effortlessly present as one's stillness.

Nothing needs to be changed,

For it is whole and complete.

Nothing to be pursued or added,

For awareness itself is free to be fully recognised.

As an earlier belief of needing to be spiritual begins to soften,

That which is quietly present,

In the wisdom knowing of all movements,

Is the unfolding nature of being.

One's awareness,

Open,

Whole and complete,

Unmoving,

Uncaused,

Effortlessly here,

The very essence of one's being.

Notice that awareness has no desire,

No personal wish.

It does not seek to be anything more than what it eternally is.

One's natural awareness is spaciously whole and peaceful and wise.

Awareness simply is whole,

Before any idea of being spiritual became a thought.

Thoughts and actions will continue around spiritual pursuits,

Concepts,

Beliefs and narratives.

All are free and perfect within the movements of life.

Now in the heart though,

Something timeless is being recognised.

One's timeless awareness,

Peaceful and wise.

Silently present,

Behind every experience,

Every thought,

Every sensation and every desire.

One's pure abiding awareness,

Natural,

Eternal and wise and all-knowing.

Rest for a few moments now,

Without the need to understand,

Without wanting to become anything or anyone,

Without needing to be defined as a spiritual seeker,

A spiritual person.

Simply be aware,

Be here,

As the stillness of one's pure awareness.

Timelessly present,

Whole and complete,

Right here,

Now.

As this meditation comes to a close,

Recognise that nothing was required for awareness to be fully recognised in one's life.

And knowing this,

The idea of being someone spiritual is simply another passing thought.

And when that belief fades,

Abiding awareness remains.

Present,

Natural,

Already whole,

Complete and peaceful,

Indivisible and spacious.

Now in conclusion,

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath.

Come back into the body.

Come back to the space around you.

And when you are ready,

Gently open the eyes.

Carrying this quiet recognition of timeless awareness,

The essential nature of one's being,

The silent,

Spacious background behind all perceiving and all experiencing,

Awareness,

Unchanging,

Present,

Before any label,

Identity,

Or belief.

Quietly present,

Whole and timelessly complete,

Inseparably here.
