When you feel the walls caving in and the air being sucked out of the room,
Grab your camera and step outside.
Connecting with the flow of nature can shift how you're responding to life right now,
And can help you return to a place of peace.
Soften your gaze and take four slow,
Deep breaths.
Notice the sensation of life energy flowing in and out of your lungs.
As you breathe,
Let your peace return to you.
Trace the flow of oxygen through your nose or mouth,
Through your throat and voice box,
Down your windpipe and into your lungs.
As you exhale,
Follow the path of carbon dioxide as it gently leaves your body.
As you breathe,
You're delivering sustenance to the natural world around you.
Pausing for this moment to bring your awareness to this precious cycle of breath is a celebration of the interconnectedness of humans and nature.
Now close your eyes and sink into this outside space of nature like a warm,
Calming bath.
Feel the air,
The light,
The sounds,
All enveloping you in peace.
Spending time in nature and even looking at photographs of nature can reduce stress and anxiety.
So stay in nature's comfort for a moment more.
It's time to gently open your eyes and look around you.
Even though your eyes are open,
Still keep your gaze soft as you contemplate this scene.
What does your soul focus on?
Whatever it is,
Make a picture of it.
In times of stress,
You can find solace by coming back to your photograph and remembering the peace and calm of this moment.
Thank you for practicing with me.
May you dwell in a peaceful place in this moment and the next.
Namaste.
