Hello,
My name is Samantha Archibald of Zai Yoga.
Let's come into a comfortable seat.
And let's take a little time to focus on breathing in deeply.
And as you exhale,
Exhale out slowly.
So you're focusing on your inhales and your exhales.
And you're taking the time to keep it steady and slow so that you can allow yourself to relax and to create ease in the body.
So relax the shoulders.
Soften around your tempo.
And the eyebrows,
The jawline.
Then have your mind travel through the body from that tempo to the jawline to the neck to the shoulders,
Along the spine,
The arms,
The hips,
The legs.
And as you allow the mind to target the different areas of the body,
Send a signal to the body to the muscles that it's okay to relax.
Yet keep in mind that relaxing is not collapsing.
It is about releasing.
Bringing your awareness to tension in the body and actively freeing yourself while keeping the muscles in the body engaged.
A similar process also happens in the mind.
We want our minds to be relaxed,
To slow down,
To ease into a feeling of calm and stillness without drifting into sleep or mindlessly shutting down in the middle of the day.
We want the mind to work when it needs to work,
Yet not drifting into the past,
Which we cannot change or fast forward into what if,
What's next in your day,
Which we really can't predict.
Instead,
We want to be actively focused on what is happening right now.
Ready to act when necessary,
But calm,
Centered,
And ready.
Once that balance is established between the mind and the body,
The consciousness within us shines through strongly.
That awareness doesn't rely on fear,
Doesn't calculate and recalculate or try to rewrite the past.
It lets go of all and deals with just this present moment.
Consciousness is that awareness that the past is the past.
We can't go back,
But we can learn from it.
And the future is not yet here.
So we can plan all we want.
And that's a good,
That's a good idea.
But we can't predict,
But what we really can actively,
Consciously do is be in this moment right now.
And the truth is there is only that,
The right now.
So if you keep your mind and body actively focused on your present moment,
Consciously becoming your center,
Consciously creating clarity,
Stability,
Strength,
Courage.
And with doing so,
Creating that conscious ability to see life in this very moment.
Every decision you make,
Every move you make comes from a place of knowing,
Comes from a place of knowledge,
Comes from a place of certainty.
And then the mind doesn't spend so much time in the what if,
Or in moments of anger,
Sadness,
Of fear,
Of doubt,
Trying to trace back,
Recapture.
All that disappears because you are certain,
You are conscious,
You are aware of this moment that you're in and you move forward,
Taking every step from a place of certainty.
Not from a place of past regrets,
Not from a place of fear of what lies ahead.
But from this moment,
From this place of consciousness,
And it becomes your grounding.
It becomes your truth.
And it helps you create the freedom and the ability to step forward into life,
Into your highest self.
So,
Take a little time,
A little time to actually be aware of the muscles of the body,
Of the breath,
And let go of the tension that your body or muscles,
Your mind might be holding onto.
And be present,
Be present to this moment.
Slow down the thoughts.
And by doing so,
What is left is an active,
Conscious being.
And then you become the writer of your own story.
And there will be no need to worry about what lies ahead.
And there'll be no reason to want to look back,
To remember what you've read,
Because you already know how this story will be.
Because you will create it.
You will live it.
You will live it.
So,
As you begin to move,
To engage and interact,
You move from a place of consciousness.
So,
Whenever you're ready,
You'll take your time and you'll begin to slowly release out of your seat,
Opening up your eyes and moving through the day consciously,
Writing your story.
Have a wonderful day.
Namaste.
