Freedom and stability at first seem like the two don’t mix, but in reality, they work together. In our minds, we associate freedom as not being held down and stability as security. Our lives are a balance of the two. When we find that harmony, joy, and happiness are not far from our hearts.

Many blessings to you today.

My name is Samantha Archibald of Zayoga.

Thank you for joining me as we meditate on freedom and stability,

Which appears to be a bit of a contradiction.

Let's see if we can balance it out,

Shall we?

As we begin,

Find yourself in a comfortable position.

It could be seated in a chair,

On the floor,

Seated cross-legged,

Or lying down.

Whenever you choose,

Close your eyes and relax.

Allow your shoulder blades to draw down your back and soften.

Slowly,

Take a deep breath in as you fill the chest and the rib cage.

With your exhale,

Start to release and let go.

Again inhale steadily into the nostrils and exhale through the mouth.

Let's repeat that.

Inhale deep,

Then exhale through the mouth.

Just notice in the inhales and the exhales.

Know as you seal your lips,

Continue breathing in and out through the nostrils.

As your breath deepens,

The lungs expand and replenish.

And with the exhales,

The muscles release and relax.

Take the time here to allow the breath to flow.

As you feel your hips,

Your arms,

Your legs become heavy.

Allow your thoughts to float in the distance as you detach from them.

Be in this moment and open your heart.

Let go of any ideas,

Expectations,

And let yourself be.

Body,

Breath,

Mind,

All in this moment,

Present,

Flowing together.

So we want to be free.

We want to feel stable.

We desire happiness and we yearn for peace.

And we go about trying to create that in our lives every day.

But what if what we think we want is not what we need?

Life has a way of showing us two sides of a coin,

Two sides of a story.

Again,

We want freedom and we want stability.

When you think about it,

To be free,

You can't be stable.

You have to let go.

No holding on.

But we need to feel grounded,

Rooted,

Secure.

That assures that we would have what we need.

It takes away the idea of being free though.

So how do we stay grounded and have our freedom?

I like to say that I have all the answers,

But I don't.

However,

If we don't bring that awareness to the surface,

We never allow ourselves to flip that coin and find that balance.

Balance comes when you take two variant levels and level them out.

Feeling peace in a chaotic world,

Working hard,

But taking time for yourself.

Not one more than the other.

Being respectful of others and their ideas,

But okay with having your own ideas.

What makes balance so beautiful is when you do achieve it,

Everything falls into place.

There's no good or bad,

No heads or tail,

Only harmony.

When we realize that what we want is not necessarily what we need,

We let go.

Becoming free.

And in that freedom is our stability.

Knowing that nothing can hold you down gives you the ability to feel secure in your being,

In your heart.

So at first,

It seems like the two don't mix,

But in reality,

They work together.

In our minds,

We associate freedom as not being held down and stability as security.

But to be free,

You have to feel secure enough to let go.

Balance,

Happiness,

Peace and joy are what you will get regardless of the side the coin falls on.

So allow yourself to sit here feeling stable,

Feeling secure.

As you let your heart,

Your breath,

Your mind,

Let go and be free.

You can take a little bit more time here if you like.

I would.

But for now,

I wish you a wonderful day.

Namaste.
