Get comfy, curl into your “shell” by gently hugging your knees or wrapping your arms around yourself, and take slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out with a sigh. Rest in the warmth, quiet, and safety of your shell for a few breaths, then slowly peek your head out when you feel ready, noticing the room with one more deep breath. This short practice reminds you that you can return to your shell anytime and gently uncurl when you’re ready.
