Welcome,
This is Daphne and I'm glad you're here.
Take the time to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
You may choose to lie down or be seated comfortably.
Whatever feels best for your body today.
Try to arrange yourself in a position where you can relax fully.
Allow your arms and legs to relax.
Let your hands rest comfortably by your sides or on your body.
There is nothing special you need to do.
If your system has been carrying too much for too long,
This practice is a place to set some of that weight down.
I invite you to follow my voice and allow yourself to receive deep,
Relaxing recovery.
Let's begin by noticing three slow,
Nourishing breaths.
Inhale gently through your nose.
Exhale softly through your mouth.
Do that two more times at your own pace.
With each breath,
Let your body settle a little more deeply.
When you feel ready,
Let your eyes gently close.
Allow your attention to rest on the crown of your head.
Begin to slowly and gently bring awareness down through your body,
One part at a time,
Consciously softening as you go.
Notice your forehead.
Allow the forehead to smooth.
Notice the space around and behind your eyes,
Letting the muscles soften.
Notice your jaw and mouth.
Allow all these areas throughout your head to soften.
Bring your awareness to your neck and shoulders.
Feel any sensation there.
Allow them to soften and relax.
Notice your arms,
Your hands,
Your fingers,
All resting.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Bring your awareness to your belly,
Your legs,
And your feet.
Let them be heavy and relaxed.
Feel your body fully supported by the ground beneath you.
Allowing yourself to let go and soften.
There is nothing to fix,
Nothing to improve,
And nothing to figure out.
Just notice and allow yourself to be here,
Held by this moment.
Now gently bring your awareness to the breath.
Notice the breath as it moves in and out.
Feel the rise of the inhale and the soft fall of the exhale.
Inhale,
Arrive.
Exhale,
Release.
Inhaling,
Arrive.
Exhaling,
Release.
Let the breath be your anchor.
A steady,
Soft rhythm that reminds you that you are safe.
You are here.
You are held.
Now imagine you are resting on soft earth.
Perhaps on a bed of soft grass or moss.
Completely safe and supported by the ground beneath you.
The earth is steady beneath your body.
There is nothing you need to do or hold right now.
See if you can allow just a little more of your weight to be received.
The back of your body gently spreading as it relaxes.
Your shoulders,
Your hips,
Your legs.
All gently supported.
The earth has been holding living things for a very long time.
And it knows how to hold you.
Perhaps there is a gentle warmth around you.
Just enough to feel very comfortable.
You might imagine warmth beneath you as well as around you.
As though the ground itself is quietly supporting your rest.
A soft breeze brushes gently across your cheeks.
There may be birdsong somewhere in the distance.
Or the quiet rustle of leaves moving nearby.
Nothing you need to listen for.
Just the sense that you are resting in a living landscape.
That is calm and steady and nourishing.
You are held here.
You are safe enough.
Let yourself settle a little more deeply into this support.
Let your breath continue in its natural rhythm.
With each inhale,
Your body receives what it needs.
And with each exhale,
You can release a little more effort.
Allow your body to become just a little heavier.
A little more grounded.
You don't need to hold anything right now.
You don't need to carry the weight of your worries or responsibilities.
The earth beneath you can hold some of that for a while.
Giving yourself full permission to rest.
Allowing yourself to receive.
Now I'll offer a few gentle phrases.
You don't need to repeat them.
And you don't need to believe them.
Just notice how your body responds as you hear them.
Some may land right away.
Others may simply pass by.
Both are completely okay.
These phrases are not something you need to achieve.
They're simply something you're being invited to rest into.
I am worthy of rest.
It is safe to move more slowly.
I am allowed to release what is not mine to carry.
I am allowed to move at the pace my nervous system trusts.
My body knows how to restore itself when it is given time.
I am allowed to soften.
I am allowed to receive support.
My energy can return in its own rhythm.
I do not have to figure everything out right now.
In this moment,
I am safe enough to rest.
Let these words settle in whatever way feels natural.
Even one phrase is enough.
Now simply rest.
There is nothing to do.
Let your breath move naturally.
Each inhale arriving with ease.
Each exhale releasing into deeper rest.
Feel the weight of your body fully supported by the ground beneath you.
If your mind wanders,
Gently guide it back to your breath or the feeling of being held by the earth.
This is your time to restore,
To receive,
To remember your wholeness.
You can let go of timelines.
Let go of all the doing.
Let go of the need to carry everything.
Your body knows how to restore itself when it is given enough safety and time.
When you feel ready to return,
Gently deepen your breath.
Slowly wiggle your fingers and toes.
Feel the sensations of the movements.
Begin to notice the space around you.
And notice the surface beneath you.
Take your time coming back.
If you're lying down,
When you're ready,
Slowly roll to one side and pause.
Make sure your head is supported and your neck is relaxed.
And when it feels right,
Gently press yourself up to a comfortable seated position.
I invite you to bring one hand to your heart and one hand to your belly.
Take a final,
Nourishing breath in.
And a long,
Slow breath out.
Let this sense of softness stay with you,
Even in a small way.
You can carry this into the rest of your day,
Or into your sleep if you are using this practice as part of your evening routine.
You are worthy of rest.
You are safe to soften.
And you may come back to this practice anytime you need to recover.
Thank you for giving yourself this time for this deep healing rest.
Namaste.
