Welcome,
This is Daphne.
If you've woken up and your mind feels active right now,
Let's take a few quiet moments together.
If your mind is still active,
That's okay.
This is something many nervous systems experience during the night.
Sometimes,
The mind simply becomes aware for a while.
For the next few minutes,
There's nothing you need to solve.
Nothing you need to figure out.
You're simply allowing your body and mind to settle again.
Begin by noticing the surface beneath you,
The bed supporting your body.
Allow yourself to feel that support and surrender the weight of your body into it.
Now bring gentle awareness to your breathing.
Let the inhale arrive naturally.
Allow the exhale to soften just a little longer.
Nothing forced,
Just letting the breath move slowly in and out.
You might notice the weight of the blankets over your body,
Or the small points of contact where your body meets the bed.
Allow your awareness to settle into those sensations.
If your mind begins thinking again,
That's completely normal.
When you notice it,
You might gently guide your attention back to the breath or the support beneath you.
Take another slow breath in.
As you exhale,
Allow your body to soften a little more into the bed.
There is nothing you need to do right now.
Your body already knows how to rest and how to return to sleep.
Allow yourself to rest here.
Sleep can come in its own time.
Thank you for your attention.
