Hello and welcome.
Today we'll be working with finding resource within the body.
This is a physical location.
This space can feel neutral,
Grounding,
Calming.
When we're living with chronic pain,
Having a space inside the body that we can call upon that feels neutral or even good is an extremely powerful tool,
Especially when we're used to our bodies causing us a lot of distress and anguish.
It helps to remind us that despite the pain,
There are safe,
Welcoming,
And even helpful places within ourselves.
The same goes for anxiety.
When we feel overwhelmed,
Knowing that we can tap into this place that will help to ground us and that is there for us no matter what can create a sense of reassurance and ease.
When you feel ready,
Let's begin our practice.
Find a position that brings you the most comfort possible,
Especially when you're living with chronic pain or anxiety.
We want to transmit messages of safety,
Of comfort,
As much as we can.
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
Slow,
Gentle inhale.
Soft,
Easy exhales.
Soft,
Gentle inhales.
Slow,
Easy exhale.
Feel the ground underneath you,
Supporting you,
Holding you.
Even if you can release just 1% of tension,
Anything your body will allow you to let go of,
Let go of.
And anything that remains,
Remains.
And if you haven't already,
If it feels comfortable for you,
Go ahead and close down your eyes.
Take a few more breaths here.
Soft,
Gentle inhale.
Easy exhale.
Now we'll embark upon an exploration through the body to find an area of resource,
An area that's calling to us to connect with it.
You'll be scanning for a place that feels maybe neutral,
Safe,
Or even feels really good.
Allow yourself to drop in and begin the exploration.
Scanning the body in a way that makes sense to you.
Perhaps starting from the top of your head and working your way down.
Or maybe you already are feeling drawn to a particular place.
Know that when you find an area of resource,
You'll recognize it.
Try not to overthink it too much.
There are absolutely no wrong answers here.
The process of scanning your body is an opportunity to connect with your body,
To connect with yourself.
Once you've found an area of resource,
Once you've found an area that you feel curious about,
Go ahead and hold your attention here.
If you're still scanning,
Pause the track and take your time to find that space.
Take a few deep breaths into this area.
Slow,
Gentle inhale.
Soft,
Easy exhale.
Slow,
Gentle inhale.
Soft,
Easy exhale.
And notice the quality of the sensation in this space.
Does it feel like pressure?
Tingling?
Does it feel like pressure?
Tingling?
Does it feel like a hug?
Just notice what you feel.
Take another deep breath into this space.
Notice if this simple act of breath changes the sensation.
Notice if this area is sending you any impression,
Any messages of any kind.
Perhaps even a memory.
Perhaps even a memory.
Is it bringing up any emotion?
Take another breath in.
Soft,
Gentle inhale.
Soft,
Easy exhale.
And before we leave this area of resource,
Take a moment to do anything you need to in connection with this space.
Let's take a moment to send thanks and gratitude to this place within ourselves that is acting as a place of neutrality,
Of comfort,
Of grounding.
Take a moment to be in awe of ourselves for having this powerful,
Resourceful space within us.
These areas of resource inside of you is just one example of how powerful and resourceful you truly are.
Thank you so much for being here today.
I will see you next time.
