And get nice and comfortable here.
Use any props to make yourself more comfortable.
As you settle into your position today,
You can be aware specifically the base of the spine.
Connect with the base of the spine as you settle into maybe a seated position or as you settle into Shavasana.
Become aware of how you feel at your root,
At your foundation.
And if you are comfortable today in closing your eyes and taking this step of trust,
Go ahead and do so,
Trusting that you can relax and be safe within yourself.
But if you are uncomfortable with that today,
Show yourself grace and acceptance.
Instead,
Simply fix your gaze softly on something in front of you.
Relaxed,
Soft,
But fixed gaze.
Back to your breath.
More and more inward towards your root.
With each inhale and each exhale,
Focus on your root,
The energy center at the base of the spine.
In order to function at our highest level and heal,
We need to internally,
We have to have an open and solid foundation.
The body contains everything else.
Our root is our foundation,
Our container,
And we need to feel secure and safe in our physical identity first.
And with your next few breaths,
Really thank your body for all that it does,
For being your foundation.
Appreciate your container for all that it is and all that it does.
Try to visualize that red energy spinning clockwise at the base of your spine.
Try to visualize and picture this root chakra,
Your root chakra.
And with each breath,
Feel that energy growing stronger,
Being fanned by your inhale.
And with each breath,
It stays in balance,
This energy center,
Not spinning too fast or too slow.
To help promote the opening and spinning of our root chakra,
We'll introduce some affirmations,
Some mantras.
And feel free to use these affirmations or mantras anytime you feel you need to reconnect to your root.
On your next breath,
Use the inhale to repeat to yourself,
I am.
And on your exhale,
Repeat,
Safe.
And repeat this for the next three breaths.
Inhaling,
I am.
Exhaling,
Safe.
On your next inhale,
Repeat,
I am.
And on your exhale,
Secure.
Repeat this mantra for the next three breaths.
Inhaling,
I am.
Exhaling,
Secure.
And on your next inhale,
Repeat,
I am.
And on your next inhale,
Repeat,
My needs.
And exhale,
Are met.
And repeat this for the next three breaths.
On your inhale,
My needs.
Exhale,
Are met.
And choose which of those mantras and affirmations resonated most with you.
I am safe.
I am secure.
My needs are met.
And use the next few moments with your breath to breathe it in and repeat it to yourself,
Reminding yourself that it is true.
I am safe.
I am secure.
All my needs are met.
I am safe.
I am secure.
All my needs are met.
All my needs are met.
Bring your awareness back to the base of the spine.
Come back to seeing the red energy of your foundation,
Your root chakra.
And slowly come back to the breath.
And gently begin to blink the eyes,
Slowly first,
Not trying to focus on anything.
Maybe invite some gentle movements back into your body,
Into your space.
Make your way back up into seated if you're in a reclined position.
Coming back into the world.
Bring your hands to heart center.
Thank you very much for sharing practice with me today.
You are safe.
You are secure.
And all your needs are met.
Go out into the world and be well.
Namaste.
