Beyond the Comfort Zone. Inspired by Rihanna on her reasons for doing the Half-time show at the Super Bowl in February. And knowing the empowerment that comes with saying 'Yes'. This also took me to the following quote, by Helen Keller: 'The place between your comfort zone and your dream is where life takes place.' So hope you feel empowered to take that step beyond your comfort zone that allows you to live your life to the full. Here to expand the comfort zone. Please leave a review.

Hello and welcome,

Lovely to be here with you all.

I've been sort of quiet for the past couple of weeks,

Having not had the space I guess to record any meditations but I have been writing them in the meantime.

And so this one I have entitled Beyond the Comfort Zone and I took sort of inspiration following an interview that I listened to with Rihanna and she'd said that she had not sung live on stage for some seven years and she felt overwhelmed to sing on one of the most watched sports show,

I.

E.

The Super Bowl,

That it was a big deal and she felt that it was outside her comfort zone.

But she felt empowered and she mentioned that a lot of that empowerment came from her having become a mum and being more within herself and so she felt it was the right time to say yes to the opportunity of singing during the halftime show at the Super Bowl that happened in February this year.

So it just got me thinking in terms of how we deal with saying yes to something that we feel is beyond our comfort and what it feels like when we do say yes to those opportunities.

And then it got me also into thinking about winning and losing and obviously there has to be a winner in a game,

In a football game.

So the thoughts I had was on it is about winning and the joys and the happiness that comes from winning and losing is hard,

Right?

I mean I'm sure we have all been there at some stage in our lives but we do learn something once we've stopped beating ourselves up for that loss,

For losing.

And it is in that moment where we feel compassion and kindness and I think we can all step into the project,

Step into the interview,

Step into a sports game with a belief and believe that we will win and at that time losing is never an option.

So I think here I'd like to take a moment to practice,

To create more space for silence and give ourselves the opportunity to sit with this quote of beyond the comfort zone.

And Helen Keller sums it up as the place between your comfort zone and your dream is where life takes place.

So as you begin to settle or take note just bring that statement of beyond the comfort zone to your mind and just begin to notice your breath as you breathe in let the air fill your chest,

Your belly and as you breathe out allow any tension,

Tightness to soften and slowly allowing each breath to settle into an easy rhythm of in,

Slower and slower,

Relaxing into stillness.

The place between your comfort zone and your dream is where life takes place.

Let yourself be here,

Recognize anything that comes up for you as you hear these words without judgment,

Without expectation,

With a still open mind.

In the warmth of our comfort zone life feels safe and familiar.

You have the willpower and a change in your mindset to step out of that comfort zone.

Each step you take expands your comfort zone leading you to personal growth,

Learning and success.

As you follow your breath in,

Breath out,

Visualize yourself standing in a bubble.

The bubble is safe,

It is protecting you from the weather,

The storms,

The uncertainty,

The changes in the road,

The path,

The turns,

The hills.

The bubble feels safe.

You know exactly what to expect,

You stand firm,

You feel the warmth of your comfort zone within this safe,

Protective bubble.

You stretch out,

You take up space and as you reach higher your fingers touch touch the bubble.

You keep reaching,

Your fingers burst the bubble.

You feel naked,

You feel wonderful,

You breathe,

You stop the fear,

You breathe,

You stop the fear of failure enveloping you.

You want to move,

You begin to believe you can accomplish anything.

You're open to the opportunities to grow,

To learn.

I can't do that becomes I can do that.

That's not something I'm good at becomes that's something I am good at.

You inhale,

You exhale.

I can't do that becomes I can do that.

That's not something I'm good at becomes that's something I am good at.

Your bubble is back but it is bigger,

Continuing to expand gradually as you find your true potential.

You reach your goals and live to the full.

You are resilient,

You're building your resilience.

As you expand your comfort zone,

You begin to face your life with ease and optimism.

You are beyond the comfort zone.

You breathe in this feeling,

You breathe out the belief,

You repeat to yourself I can't do that is I can do that.

That's not something I'm good at,

That is something I am good at.

I will step beyond my comfort zone.

Take a breath in,

Slow exhale,

Bring a smile to your face.
