Welcome to this guided self-acupressure meditation for finding closure and letting go.

Through this meditation,

We'll explore the powerful connection between the metal element and the art of releasing what no longer serves us.

This self-acupressure and meditation practice will help you cultivate the ability to reduce,

Simplify,

And let go,

Just like the autumn trees that shed their leaves to prepare for winter.

We often hold on to past experiences,

Relationships,

And emotions,

Which can weigh us down and prevent us from moving forward.

But deep within us,

There is a wellspring of clarity,

Like the clear sky on a crisp autumn day waiting to be uncovered.

The metal element within the creative cycle and the five elements governs our ability to let go and simplify.

When this element is in balance,

It manifests as clarity,

Precision,

And a clear sense of purpose.

However,

When it is out of balance,

It can lead to feelings of grief,

An inability to let go or move on,

Or a permeating sense of regret.

Grief,

Melancholy,

The lungs,

And the act of letting go are all energetically related to the metal element's contracting and inwards energy.

Just like the lungs contract to exhale,

We too must release the old to make space for the new.

This is the essence of finding closure.

Now,

Let's begin our practice.

Please find a comfortable and quiet place to sit or lie down,

Whichever feels better for you.

If it feels good for you,

Let your eyes half or fully close.

And let's take a deep breath in.

And as you take a long breath out,

Releasing any tension you might be holding inside your body.

Let's now locate the acupressure point for this practice.

The point we'll be exploring is lung 2 on the meridian channel.

And this point is often known as yunmen or the cloud gate.

This is located on the upper part of your chest,

Just below your collarbone,

On the further side of your collarbone that's close towards your armpit.

And it's about 2 inches out from the midline on both sides.

And as you massage on this point,

It's common to feel a little tenderness or slight sensation.

As you gently apply pressure to this point,

Visualize yourself as a majestic autumn oak tree.

Inhale and imagine yourself standing tall and strong,

Your branches reaching outwards towards the sky.

And as you exhale,

Envision your tree shedding its leaves one by one.

These leaves representing the things you need to let go of.

Past regrets,

Lingering grief,

Or anything that no longer serves you.

Or gently press down on your lung 2 cloud gate points as you breathe in,

Visualizing yourself extending upwards towards the heavens,

Towards the sky.

And as you exhale and gently release this gentle pressure,

Allow your old wrinkled leaves to gently shed from your branches,

Releasing them to the earth.

With each inhale,

Gently apply pressure on these points,

And imagine your tree drawing in fresh,

White,

Luminous vital energy from around you,

From the universe.

Allow this energy to fill your entire being,

Cleansing and revitalizing you from within.

And as you exhale,

Gently release the pressure on these points,

Letting yourself release any attachments,

Any lingering emotions,

Or thoughts that have been circling and holding you back.

You are making space for new growth,

Just as the tree prepares for the coming winter,

And the next cycle of spring,

Summer,

Autumn once again.

We'll continue like this for the next 5 breaths,

Inhaling to gently press down on your lung 2 cloud gate meridian points,

To take in this fresh,

White vital energy,

And to expand your consciousness.

And as you exhale,

Gently release this pressure,

And allow yourself to soften,

Finding closure,

Releasing anything that no longer serves you.

And now gently and slowly,

Wherever you are,

Completing your last round,

Keeping your fingers on the lung 2 meridian point,

Gently now begin to circle and massage this point,

Allowing the pressure to gently dissipate and spread throughout the whole of your chest.

Let's now take a few moments to reflect on what you are letting go of and finding closure for today.

It could be a past relationship,

A regret,

A grudge,

Or perhaps a need to simplify your life.

Whatever it is,

Acknowledge it.

And now with your next exhale,

Resolve to allow yourself to release.

And as you release this,

Trust that by doing so,

You are creating space for something better,

Just as the tree prepares for a new spring.

Know that you are aligned with the wisdom of the metal element,

And you have the strength to let go and find closure at any point of time in your life.

Gently and slowly,

Now place both of your palms on these two points,

Allowing your palms to connect your heart through the center of your palms with these two points underneath your collarbones.

With your next inhale,

Gently let your palms move away from these points,

Creating spaciousness.

Open your arms and spread them apart as if you are embracing someone you love,

Yourself.

And then as you exhale,

Wrap your arms around yourself and give yourself a great big hug.

As you hug and embrace this person you dearly love,

Keeping this sense of clarity,

Lightness,

Closure,

And self-confidence with you.

And if and when you begin to feel ready,

Gently and slowly,

If your eyes are still closed,

Let them blink open.

Thank you for joining me in this guided self-acupressure meditation for finding closure and letting go.

Remember that this practice can be revisited whenever you need to release and simplify your life.

I hope you bring this clarity and strength of the metal element with you as you move forward into the rest of your day and the rest of your life.
