Find a comfortable seat,

Let your eyes soften,

And let the world blur at the edges just a little.

Take a deep breath in,

The kind that reminds your lungs that they're alive,

And let it go.

Feel yourself arriving in this moment,

With no demand to perform or produce,

Just to notice.

Bring your awareness to something simple,

Perhaps the rhythm of your breath,

The hum of a fan,

Or the weight of your body.

Notice how even the ordinary things become curious when you truly look.

Interest begins here,

In noticing something unexpected about the expected.

A texture,

A temperature,

A sound that was always there,

But unexamined.

Say silently,

I open to what is here.

This is the spark of attention,

The base of the pyramid.

What we notice,

We begin to care about.

Now feel the mind begin to make sense of what it notices.

It names breath,

Body,

Sound,

Sensation.

It arranges experience into meaning.

Notice the comfort that comes when the strange becomes slightly familiar.

This is comprehension,

The middle layer of interest.

It's what allows you to stay curious without becoming overwhelmed.

If the mind wanders,

Gently smile and bring it back.

Curiosity grows best when the soil is kind.

Now ask yourself quietly,

What more is here?

Can you feel a pull,

It's subtle,

Gentle,

Towards something more deeply?

The way a leaf catches light in a way you've never noticed.

The way your breath feels cooler on the inhale and warmer on the exhale.

Interest is the marriage of novelty and knowing.

It whispers,

Stay a while.

It doesn't shout,

It invites.

Let the curiosity settle into the heart.

Why does this moment matter to you?

Perhaps because to be interested is to be alive.

Because to care,

Even for something small,

Connects you to the pulse of being human.

When interests mature,

It becomes love.

Love for learning,

For noticing,

For staying alive.

Say silently,

I am interested in this life because it is mine to experience.

Take one last breath.

Feel the pyramid of interest within you.

Attention at the base,

Comprehension in the middle,

And curiosity spiraling upward.

Value crowning the top like a quiet flame.

When you open your eyes,

Let the world itself be the next interesting thing you see.
