This is a guided centering process intended to help you feel calm, present, and balanced... I encourage you to listen to this audio a few times and then make the process I describe your own so this technique can be a part of your own self-soothing kit.

This is a short guided centering process.

So I encourage you to just take a few deep breaths,

Settling yourself.

You can be sitting or lying down.

If you're sitting make sure that your feet are uncrossed and your hands are uncrossed.

Just focus on taking some lovely big deep breaths.

As you're breathing in,

Breathing in cleansing clear fresh air.

And as you breathe out,

Release any tension,

Tightness,

Anything you're holding in your body.

And as you continue to focus on your breath,

Imagine that you're firmly grounded with a cord that extends from the base of your spine right down to the centre of the earth.

And that you are surrounded by a ball of energy.

Continue focusing on releasing with each exhale.

Continuing to allow any tension or tightness you feel in your body and allow it to melt down the grounding cord and into the earth where it can be easily absorbed.

So you feel more and more relaxed with each deep breath.

And now imagine that the ball of energy around you extends at least a few feet on all sides.

Above you,

Below you,

To both sides,

To the front and to the back.

So that you are completely surrounded and protected by it.

And now ask any energy that is not your own to move out of this ball.

We all pick up energetic debris as we go throughout our daily lives,

Just like a table top picks up dust.

If you ask this energetic debris to leave,

It will.

Just take in a couple more breaths of that clear,

Cleansing energy and feel the debris drifting away back to its source.

When this is done,

Ask to return to you all of your own energy.

Just as we pick up energy from other people and places,

We leave bits of our energy,

Our own energy,

Wherever we go.

Now you want to feel this energy returning to you,

Allowing you to feel whole and complete.

Now focus for a moment on bringing clear,

Cleansing energy into your mind with each in-breath,

So that your entire brain feels clear,

Balanced and alert.

Feel this clear,

Cleansing energy moving into both sides of your brain,

So that your mind is balanced and so that any leftover thoughts from the day can drift off for now.

Allowing yourself to be here in this moment with a clear mind.

Just keep breathing like this.

When you feel clear and relaxed,

Take another deep breath,

Bringing into clear focus.

Bring your awareness back to your body,

Wiggle your fingers and toes a little.

If your eyes were closed,

You can gently blink them open,

Take in your surroundings.

And keep this clear,

Balanced scent with you.
