The sensation of your jaw,
Ears,
The skin of your face,
Your nostrils,
Eyes,
Forehead and scalp.
The back of your neck and shoulders.
Natural sensations of lightness or heaviness in your arms.
And the gentle rise and release of your belly as your breath comes in and goes out.
The sensations of lightness and heaviness in your legs and your feet.
And the throb of life force that's animating every atom,
Every molecule and every cell throughout your body.
Your body as a field of radiant and vibrant sensation.
Now contemplate and ponder the following questions that can help you locate your deepest heart-felt desire for your practice of meditation as well as your daily life.
What is my deepest heart-felt longing?
What do I want more than anything else for my practice of meditation and for my life?
What is the central principle or guiding theme that runs throughout my life that gives my life purpose,
Value and meaning?
What is the mission that life is asking of me as its unique expression?
Sense into your heart and welcome words and visceral feelings that arise that are associated with your unique heart-felt desire.
There may be words or simply a felt sense.
Just welcome whatever arises just as it is knowing that it can take time for your deepest heart-felt longing to fully reveal itself.
If there are words,
Place them in positive present tense phrases such as I am loving,
Compassionate,
Kind and authentic.
I express truth in each moment.
Now imagine that your heart-felt desire is actualised and true.
Imagining what it is like to be living from this deepest heart-felt desire.
What actions are you taking in your life with respect to yourself,
Others and the world around you?
Allow your body,
Mind and heart to resonate with a sense of well-being,
Love and gratitude.
As you imagine yourself living from your deepest heart-felt desire.
As you are doing this,
Consider intentions that support living your deepest heart-felt desire.
For instance,
What steps can you take to express this heart-felt desire in a manner that gives your life or your practice of meditation value,
Meaning and purpose?
Now is time to get ready to complete this practice.
But before ending,
Affirm your heart-felt desire with your entire body and mind.
By also stating intentions you might wish to take with you into daily life that will help you nourish and realise your heart's deepest longing.
When you're ready,
Softly blinking your eyes open,
While still maintaining a visceral felt sense of your heart's deepest longing and intention.
Continue to confirm them as you welcome your body to stretch and move in whatever way feels right for you.
Coming fully back,
Eyes open,
Reacquainting yourself with the space you're in.
Taking a nice deep breath,
You might even want to put your hand over your heart and acknowledge this powerful practice that you've just opened for yourself.
