We love to appreciate the beauty of other creatures like butterflies, peacocks, and corals, but ignore our beautiful bodies. The audio track will help you cultivate an attitude of gratitude toward your body. "I am me, I am myself, I am here to show what I am capable of, and no one, no matter how hard they try, will stop me, I am beautiful" (Lilac, 2020).

Hi my friends,

We will explore how to appreciate our bodies.

And we love to appreciate the beauty of other creatures like butterflies,

Ping-pongs,

And corals.

But we ignore our beautiful bodies,

Our feet,

Legs,

Hands,

Eyes.

And there are two different ways to cultivate the attitudes of gratitude toward our bodies.

Informally,

We can slow down our life and noticing how we can walk,

Appreciating our feet and legs,

And noticing how we can eat,

Appreciating our mouth and teeth,

And also noticing how we can hug,

Read,

Listen,

Smell,

And appreciating our arms,

Eyes,

Ears,

Nose,

And to each part of the body.

And formally,

We can also intentionally practice a body scan and express gratitude to our bodies.

So my friends,

I'm inviting you now to scan your body with me.

And gently closing your eyes if it's okay,

And feeling your whole body.

Your whole body may feel tired or relaxing,

Comfortable.

And feeling the posture and the space your body takes up.

And so your whole body is sitting or lying here and breathing,

Appreciating your whole body,

This human body.

And whenever you are ready,

Moving to your feet.

Any sensations in your feet,

Tingling,

Numbness,

Or you might feel warm.

And appreciating your feet.

And with this part,

We are able to walk,

Run,

Do exercise.

And then moving to your whole legs,

Lower legs,

Knees,

Thighs.

And see if it's okay to be grateful for your legs.

And then moving to your whole back,

Lower back,

And also upper back.

Feeling its strength,

Its energy,

And being grateful for your whole back.

And whenever you are ready,

Moving to your shoulders,

Your arms,

Upper arms,

And lower arms.

And to your hands.

Sending appreciation to your hands.

We are able to write,

To eat food,

And to work with computer.

Our hands are so important in our daily life.

And whenever you are ready,

Moving to the top of your body,

Your head,

Any sensations in your face,

Mouth,

Nose,

Eyes.

See if it's okay to be grateful for all of them.

Like our eyes,

We are able to read words.

We are able to see this beautiful world,

To see the sunlight,

See flowers.

And whenever you are ready,

My friends,

Now expanding your attention to your whole body again.

Feeling your whole body,

This soft,

Alive body,

And being grateful for this whole body,

This breathing body.

And whenever you are ready,

My friends,

Taking your time to open your eyes.

Thank you.
