There are countless objections to not practicing meditation, there are also amazing benefits of a regular and consistent practice, ie. physical and mental relaxation, improved circulation and an enhanced immune system, and increased serotonin and concentration.

Here is a list of some of the excuses I hear about why people don't meditate.

It's boring.

I don't have time.

I can't stop my thoughts.

And I just can't meditate.

So let me share some tips for you to consider on your journey.

Number one.

There is no way to quiet your mind.

There is nothing for you to do.

Just pay attention to what is happening right now without judgment.

Number two.

Your mind is going to get distracted.

Thoughts will arise.

Your mind will drift off often.

Relax.

This isn't a problem.

It is the nature of your mind.

The moment you recognize that your mind is distracted,

Just bring it back.

You're honing a skill.

Number three.

Your inner critic will try to control what you're doing.

Being present without judgment can be challenging.

Our inner critic that's looking out for us doesn't always have the full picture.

Don't judge anything that arises into your awareness.

Just notice the judgments themselves.

Don't follow them and just let them go.

And number four.

Practice practice and practice.

I cannot emphasize this enough for you.

Learning the skill of meditation is the regular and consistent practice of bringing the mind to the present moment over and over again without judgment.

Here are some of the benefits of meditation.

Physical and mental relaxation.

Improved circulation and an enhanced immune system.

Increased serotonin and concentration.

It improves memory recall.

Inner peace.

Improved relationships.

Personal and spiritual insights.

And a direct experience of your essence.

Learning to relax and de-stress are just by-products along the way of your meditation journey.

As you go deeper,

You may uncover fears and unfulfilled desires which were unconsciously influencing your decisions.

Embracing and integrating them allows for the freedom to make empowered choices.

Meditation is a way of life,

Not a technique.

The purpose of meditation is to ultimately lead you to the highest state of consciousness.

And there are three main phases.

Calming the conscious mind.

Dissolving subconscious imagery or latent thought patterns.

And going beyond the mind to the highest state of wisdom,

Known as self-realization.

Eventually on your path of meditation,

There will come a time that it will dawn on you the seriousness of what you're actually doing.

You are dissolving the walls of illusion that you've used to hide from the intense flame of ultimate reality.

Meeting it face to face is terrifying.

But eventually it has to be done.

Surrender to the wisdom of no escape.

And embrace the divinity within you.
