How we're breathing.
Is a mirror to how we're living.
So let's take some time right now to Feel into your breath,
See what's happening with your breath,
Both your inhale and your exhale.
And see if there's any.
.
.
Release any stress that wants to release from your breath,
Any tension that wants to release from your breath.
And invite your breath into this present moment.
You can close down your eyes if you want.
To bring your awareness more inward.
And let's start with your exhale,
Taking a few breaths in and out.
Where you're really feeling your own exhale.
Our exhale wants to be able to fully release.
Our lungs aren't actually a muscle.
Our lungs are more like an elastic balloon.
Where when we let go,
The elastic balloon naturally deflates.
So we don't need to push out too much.
Our exhale.
We don't need to use any muscular force on our exhale.
We can just allow our exhale to naturally release.
See what that feels like as you breathe.
It's a sort of surrender.
It's a sort of allowing on every exhale.
If any part of you has been pushing your exhale.
And not just allowing that softness of allowing See what it feels like here to just let go on your exhale.
And if you've been holding some of that tension in your exhale,
You might find a few accentuated sighs come out on your exhale.
Hmm,
Releasing any tension held there.
Mmmmmmm.
Another thing that can happen with our exhale is that we don't Trust.
To let all of our exhale go.
We can sort of hold on to a little bit of it as if we're not sure if there's going to be another inhale.
So we're always holding back a little bit on our exhale,
But we actually don't need to do this.
We actually don't need to hold any tension.
We don't need to hold anything in our body at all.
Our body,
Our breath is allowed to be right here in this present moment,
Soft and open.
So feeling what that feels like on your next few exhales to not hold anything.
You're allowed to let all of your exhale go.
You all the way to the bottom.
Again you're not pushing it but you're just letting it all go.
There's nothing you need to hold.
You can let it all go.
You have permission.
It is safe.
You can let it all go.
Mmm.
Seeing what that feels like at a very tangible level in your exhale.
And also,
As you're exhaling,
Seeing what that feels like metaphorically for your whole system,
That it's safe to let it all go.
You don't need to hold on to anything.
Again,
If you have been holding on unknowingly,
There might be a few sighs that come out,
Releasing that tension on your exhale.
Mmmmm.
So seeing what that feels like here to have a nice soft,
Allowing exhale that's not holding anything.
Now that you've opened that space,
On your exhale.
Let's see what your inhale feels like here.
Sometimes our inhale can be unknowingly constricted,
Like we're not letting ourselves receive life fully,
Like we're holding back a little bit on our inhale,
Not sure if we're allowed to just open wide and let it all in.
So on your next few inhales.
Seeing what that feels like to open wide and let yourself receive a full,
Beautiful inhale.
And if your chest has constricted at all,
Trying to control your inhale.
Seeing what it feels like to let your chest muscles,
Your intercostal muscles that we've between your ribs,
Seeing what it feels like to just Let those muscles soften.
You don't need to control your inhale.
And if it's available to you,
Seeing what that feels like to Let your diaphragm open and inhale for you.
Mmm.
We're not constricting our inhale.
We're not trying to control our inhale.
We're not forcing our inhale.
We're just opening hauling our inhale into our body.
It's as if metaphorically we're saying I'm ready for this next breath.
Here I am alive breathing.
I welcome this vitality,
This life into my body.
I know I'm worthy of this vitality.
I know I'm worthy of this life.
I know my vessel is capable of receiving this breath in.
Feeling what this feels like to open to this on your inhale.
Never aiming for perfection here.
We're never holding ourselves up to an ideal that we're judging ourselves against.
We're just being curious.
We're just giving ourselves permission and exploring.
What does this feel like if I lean into this?
What does this feel like if I lean into this?
Now with that open receptive inhale,
Seeing what it feels like to bring that together.
In your inhale and your exhale.
Breathing and receiving a beautiful full.
Open inhale.
And allowing your exhale to release fully,
Not needing to hold anything.
Feeling the trust and safety inherently here when we let ourselves breathe in this way.
We're trusting this present moment.
We're trusting that we can let everything go.
We're trusting that if it's right,
The next inhale will come.
Feeling also the inherent worthiness that's here when we breathe in this way.
We're worthy of letting everything go on our exhale.
We don't need to carry any burdens,
Carry any tensions.
We're worthy of letting everything go and feeling peace on our exhale.
And we're worthy of breathing in a full,
Vital,
Beautiful inhale.
You are worthy of this.
And if you've closed down your eyes,
You can open them again when you feel ready.
This is your breath.
It's always with you in every moment throughout your day,
No matter what your day might hold,
No matter what you might be experiencing in any moment.
Your breath is always here with you.
And in every moment you can connect with your breath in this way.
Feel the peace that's here.
Feel the worthiness that's here.
And feel the trust that's here.
Letting yourself,
Letting your breath be in this present moment.
I hope this supported you in some way.
And I wish you a beautiful day.
