Welcome to my Insight Timer Visualisation.
We're going to start by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated,
Laying down or standing,
Whichever works for you.
And just allow yourself a couple of moments to settle.
You may want to allow for your breathing to be completely natural.
Taking your focus to your gentle inhale and exhale for a moment.
And now,
When everything feels nicely settled down,
We can begin our visualisation.
Imagine that you're standing in front of a wooden door.
The door is solid with a shiny knob.
Look at the colour and the shape of the doorknob.
Reach out and place your hand upon it.
Notice the temperature and the texture.
As you grasp,
Slowly start to turn the doorknob.
Feel and hear the door release from its catch.
As you gently push the door open,
It reveals a woodland area.
Take a moment,
Just looking through the doorway at the trees,
The fallen leaves and the light.
Start to walk through the doorway slowly into the woodland.
Let your senses awaken.
Hear the crunch of just fallen leaves underneath your feet with each step.
Reach your hand out and run it over the bark of a nearby tree.
Notice in the grainy texture beneath your fingertips.
Take in a deep breath and smell the autumnal fragrance of leaves that have fallen and started to be taken back by the earth.
A smell that fills your senses.
Stand still for a moment and look around.
Let yourself take in the autumnal colours.
Oranges and browns,
Soft yellows and also the glimpses of pale blue sky and beams of white sunlight filtering through the branches.
Are there any other sounds here?
Maybe you hear the song of birds or the rustling of woodland animals amongst the carpet of leaves.
As you look up,
You can feel a little sun on your face,
But it brings no heat.
Maybe notice what you're wearing.
Perhaps a chunky jumper that feels like a hug.
You feel warm and cosy.
Take a moment to walk amongst the trees.
Notice in any sights,
Sounds and smells as you explore this autumnal scene.
And when you're ready,
Slowly turn around and start walking back towards the door that led you here.
When you come to the door,
Take a deep breath and notice the smells of the woodland once more,
Before stepping through and gently closing the door behind you.
And when you're ready,
Just let in yourself,
Come back to the present.
