Find a comfortable and quiet place to sit or lie down and gently close your eyes taking a deep breath in filling your lungs with air and exhale slowly through your mouth letting go of any tension or worries and just settling into this space as we focus on the theme of being still and just finding a deeper connection with your breath as you breathe in allow yourself to welcome the present moment and as you breathe out really seeing the past and future from your thoughts feel the weight of your body against the surface you're resting on and allow yourself to fully settle into this moment staying connected to your breath inhaling deeply and slowly notice the sensation of your breath entering your body and as you exhale feel the breath leaving your body just breathing in a natural way simply observing each inhalation and exhalation and know that as you breathe thoughts may arise but know that that's okay simply acknowledge them without judgment like passing clouds in the sky return your focus gently to your breath and allowing it to be your anchor to the present moment and now imagine a calm lake in your mind's eye visualize its smooth calm surface reflecting the surrounding landscape this lake symbolizes the stillness that's within you in this moment embrace the tranquility of the lake find peace to let go of any inner turbulence as you watch the lake notice how the water is undisturbed and yet beneath its surface life thrives similar with you know that there's a depth of stillness that can nurture your soul continue to breathe mindfully in this moment just allowing the image of the calm lake to fill your awareness you now expand your awareness to your body starting from the crown of your head slowly scan down through your body noticing any areas of tension or discomfort and with every breath offer relaxation to these areas allowing them to soften and release inhaling inviting peace into your body exhaling releasing any physical tightness as you rest in this mindful awareness remind yourself of the power of stillness simply being in God's presence it's in this moment that you are free to simply be without striving or accomplishing now we're going to move into a place of quiet just simply noticing what shows up allow yourself to rest in his perfect peace dear Heavenly Father in the busyness of life we come before you seeking stillness and peace help us to let go of the distractions that may pull us away from your presence as we enter into this time of prayer we ask that you quiet our heart and our mind allowing us to truly be still before you Lord your word reminds us to be still and know that I am God in this moment we release our worries plans and anxieties we surrender them to you trusting that you are in control of all things help us to find refuge in the stillness of your love knowing that you are our stronghold and safe haven in this stillness we seek your guidance open our hearts to hear your gentle whispers guiding us on the path that you have set before us silencing the noise of the world so that we can clearly discern your voice thank you Lord for the sacred time of being still with you we are grateful for the moments of peace that you provide and we carry the sense of calmness with us into the world we commit to seeking stillness daily finding our refuge in your unwavering presence may the lessons learned in this quiet space guide our steps and help us to be a source of peace to those around us in Jesus name we pray amen and just taking a final moment here allow your awareness to return to this place so noticing the breath noticing the body and as we close our meditation simply taking one final cleansing breath breathing in and breathing out and slowly opening the eyes and carry the sense of stillness with you throughout the rest of your day

This was a great meditation for stepping away from life's daily distractions and settling into a calm presence. The practice was especially helpful for my evening transition after a long and hectic workday. I appreciated the tranquility of the lake visualization. And the prayer in the last part of the meditation provided a perfect closing for this time and space to connect with the divine in life's stillness.
