Forgiveness is all about releasing and letting go.

It is one of the most powerful things you can do for yourself,

Yet it also is one of the hardest.

My beautiful souls,

Welcome to this guided meditation on forgiveness.

Because once you start forgiving others and yourself,

You'll begin to feel free.

It frees you to open your heart,

To feel joy and love again.

Doing a forgiveness meditation on a regular basis will help you to be able to let go of all the negative motion you are holding onto.

The hurt,

The pain,

The anger,

Resentment and sadness.

It takes courage to sit quietly and feel all these intense emotions.

As it is so much easier to keep yourself distracted,

Moving you away from pain.

From that deep pain that you are unable to let go of.

And remember,

Forgiving doesn't mean condoning.

It simply means opening your heart to allowing love and compassion to flow in.

Take a moment to get ready by sitting comfortably with no distractions around you.

And take a moment to scan your body with your breath to release any tension you may be feeling.

And when you're ready,

Bring the focus to your heart.

Allowing your heart to open to forgiveness.

By bringing your attention to the reality of now.

And how you feel when you think of forgiveness.

Keep using your breath to open your heart.

To allow love,

Compassion and forgiveness to enter your body,

Mind,

Heart and soul.

As you do so,

Connect to what's happening in your body.

As you bring a person or a situation into your mind who has hurt you.

And you don't know how to rectify the situation.

Start connecting with what's happening in your body.

And as you feel anger,

Pain,

Hurt.

Just take a moment feeling how it feels.

Allowing yourself to fully open to this feeling.

Bring that person into your mind's eye and as close to your heart as possible.

What I'd like you to do now is sit and visualize forgiving this person.

And say to them,

I forgive you.

I forgive you.

I forgive you.

Remembering to keep saying this even if it doesn't feel true for the moment.

Simply keep visualizing the person's situation and saying,

I forgive you.

Because by forgiving you're letting go.

By letting go you're opening yourself up for more love,

Compassion and joy in your life.

Remember when you're unable to forgive,

You hold on to pain,

Anger,

Resentment.

Which closes off your heart to the beauty that is in your life.

And forgiving someone can take time.

Today is just the beginning.

Keep inhaling and exhaling.

Anchoring yourself into your body,

Into your feelings.

Staying with what is no matter how uncomfortable.

Getting a sense of how your body is feeling.

The next few moments.

Think of different people who have hurt you.

Keep saying,

I forgive you.

And say it where possible with love,

I forgive you.

Now bring to mind anyone you may have hurt wittingly or unwittingly.

Again saying to yourself,

Please forgive me.

Please forgive me.

Please forgive me.

And saying this with love and kindness.

Because it's also being able to forgive yourself.

Not only for causing other pain.

But also for causing pain to yourself.

So now say to yourself,

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

Get a sense of how does that feel in your body.

Keep observing what's happening.

As you start forgiving yourself.

Opening your heart to forgiveness.

Allowing yourself to drop into that place of love and compassion.

Towards yourself and towards others.

This is not easy when you feel someone's hurt you deeply.

Allow yourself to let go.

Allow yourself to acknowledge that you've been hurt.

And that you have also hurt others.

This takes courage,

Strength and time.

Keep opening your heart and holding yourself in that gentle space of love.

Allowing the breath to come through you with beautiful healing love.

Allowing this energy to flow all the way through your body.

Landing in your heart.

And for the next few moments just enjoying being in this space.

Appreciating this space of forgiveness you are creating.

For yourself and for others.

Knowing you are making changes in your life.

To bring in so much love,

Joy,

Happiness and compassion.

Or whatever it is you want to feel.

When you're ready taking a lovely deep breath in.

To anchor yourself back into your body.

Back into your surrounds.

Knowing this is the beginning of healing.

Of healing from your past,

Yourself and with others.

When you're ready gently opening your eyes.

Gently stretching.

Getting ready to go back into your day.

Namaste.
