Welcome to Allowing What Is,
A meditation with the element of water.
Allow yourself to get comfortable and notice the areas of contact between your body,
The chair,
The floor,
Whatever is supporting you.
Notice your breath coming in and out with no need to change anything.
Allow your hands to make contact somewhere on your body and feel that warmth and connection.
Allowing your full self to be here,
Whatever you're experiencing.
Bringing some attention to your breath and inviting it to move in and out of the center of your chest,
Of your heart space.
Feeling the warmth grow as the breath moves in and as you exhale that warmth expands all through your body,
Allowing a gentle half smile,
Maybe bringing to mind someone or something that's so easy to love.
Imagining that breath coming in and out of the center of your chest as you bring that situation or that person to mind.
Letting that go and imagining yourself sitting in front of a large body of water.
Maybe it's the ocean or a lake or a river and just taking the expansiveness and noticing how vast it is,
If it's wavy or calm,
What else is around,
Maybe trees,
Clouds,
Sun.
Noticing if you're sitting in the sand or on soil and again,
Allowing your breath to move in and out of your heart and from your heart,
Seeing a little golden thread and it emerges from your heart and finds its way into the water.
Just resting into the water and starting to feel your own connection.
Maybe your body moves in a gentle wave where you feel the peace of still water or maybe you notice some waves in your own body or in the water and just notice and just continue breathing with awareness,
Observing the water,
Observing your own emotions and sensations and thoughts as they rise up.
Look again across the water and see if you can spot a part of the water that's far out in the distance or close to you where it's just a little bit more wavy.
Watch those waves come up and down in the rhythmic nature and just notice that as they rise,
They fall every single time and connecting back in with your own body.
Just thinking about your own emotions,
The waters,
The transitions of your own body and your own life and just noticing that those waves also come and go.
They rise and they fall every single time.
Bringing your awareness back out to the water,
Spotting a part of it that is still,
Maybe just one or two ripples.
Just notice what it feels like to be that still water,
Just allowing your heart,
Your mind,
Your body,
Breathe in that stillness.
Looking back over to that wavy section of the water,
Just noticing that stillness.
Breathing in that stillness and looking back over to that wavy section and just making note that part of this body of water can be wavy and part can be still.
Bringing your awareness again to another part of the water and maybe this part has a completely different experience.
Just notice what that experience is in the water and then notice what that experience has been in your life and just allow it,
Allow yourself to feel it.
Just noticing that in the ocean,
The lake,
The river,
There's space and room for so many expressions.
And as we watch them,
We're neutral,
We're curious,
We're even amazed.
When the waves are huge in the ocean,
We want to see them and we're in awe of their power.
Or when it's perfectly still,
We feel perfectly still.
And just bringing that back into your body,
The big waves of emotions,
The big waves of life.
How can we look at those the same way?
Neutral,
Open,
Curious,
Allowing room for everything.
All of the life in this body of water,
All of the beauty,
The transitions,
The animals,
The plants,
The bacteria,
They all have a place.
Following that thread back into your body,
Noticing everything in your own little ecosystem and that it all has a place.
Allowing that golden cord to wrap back into your heart,
Bringing the gifts of water into your body.
Imagine a blue light washing over your whole body,
Bringing this wisdom into every cell.
Take a few final breaths,
Hand to heart,
Love for yourself,
Your waters,
The waters all around you,
In your city,
In your country,
In your family,
In your friends,
All across this planet.
Lingering here as long as you would like to.
And when you're ready,
Gently coming back into yourself and into your space.
