The Waterfall (Letting Go)

Even when we know that we need to let go, sometimes we need a little support in remembering how. Here is a gentle guided journey to a special place deep within you, a sacred waterfall with healing waters where you can find deep release and renewal. If you'd like a little support and letting go,

I invite you to join me for a guided journey to a special place where you can go and find deep and profound healing.

And as you let go of anything that's truly ready to be let go,

You can open up to the deeper gifts that await you.

And the first thing I'd like to invite you to do is get ready to relax,

Because this journey is to a place deep within you.

So please turn off any phone ringers and make sure that you won't be interrupted.

You'll be entering a state of deep relaxation,

And it's important that this be protected so that you can gain the full benefit of the experience.

Please do not drive or operate machinery while listening to this recording.

So now take a moment and get as comfortable as possible.

Remove any constrictive clothing,

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position,

Adjust your pillows,

Take off any shoes or belts or glasses.

And during this process,

You may stay awake or you might fall asleep.

Either way,

Your inner mind will be listening and doing all the work.

There's nothing to do but relax and enjoy the deep relaxation you'll be experiencing.

And so now I invite you to close your eyes.

And as you do,

You can begin to relax,

Thinking of the body as limp and relaxed.

And you might notice that as you think of being relaxed,

You really become relaxed.

Good.

And begin to notice your breathing.

Notice if you can feel your body move with each inhale and exhale.

And now here's a fun way to enjoy a deeper and more pleasurable state of relaxation for your own well-being.

Each time you exhale,

Say silently to yourself,

Relax or calm.

Whichever word brings more relaxation.

Continuing to breathe in and out,

Saying relax or calm as you exhale.

Each breath continues to bring increased relaxation.

And whenever your thoughts or perceptions take your attention away from your breathing,

Just return to saying your special word.

Breathing naturally and calmly,

Allowing whatever arises to arise.

And whatever falls away to easily and effortlessly fall away.

And just return to your breathing and saying your special word.

And from this beautiful relaxation that you've just created for your own well-being,

I invite you now to feel or see or imagine yourself in a lovely outdoor setting by a beautiful flowing river.

Maybe you can almost hear the sound of the water flowing effortlessly on by,

On and on.

And you might begin to feel soft grass under your feet.

Maybe a gentle breeze caressing your skin and moving through the trees.

The soft smells of the earth and the fresh aliveness all around.

And maybe you hear the sound of birds,

The sounds of nature all around you.

Beautiful colors.

And sunlight streaming down on you and all around,

Filtering through the leaves of the trees.

And then you notice that there's a path right alongside the river and you feel it calling to you.

Somehow you sense that it will take you somewhere wonderful.

So you take the path and notice how the ground feels pleasurable under your feet and it feels so good to feel your body moving with each step.

Your body becoming lighter and more buoyant.

And as you walk,

You begin to hear an unmistakable sound and you realize that just up ahead is a waterfall.

And as you get closer,

You begin to feel the way the moisture of the waterfall and the sound of the water rushing begins to fill the air more and more.

And then it comes into view.

Just look at it.

Such a beautiful sight.

And somehow you suddenly understand that this is no ordinary waterfall,

But a waterfall with wonderful healing properties.

And anyone can come and bathe in these waters and receive a healing and a purifying gift of grace.

The ability to return to who and what you most deeply and truly are.

And so if you like,

If it feels good to you,

If you have shoes on,

You can slip them off now and you can step in,

Putting one foot into the water and the water is just the right temperature,

Not too cool,

Not too warm.

And it feels so good.

And then you can slip the other foot in and immerse yourself in the refreshing,

Healing,

Sacred waters.

Diving deeper into the pool and feeling these waters swirling around you with all that beautiful sunlight shining through and making rainbows.

And you can stay here and enjoy the calmer water,

Or you can move towards the downflow if you like,

Taking your time,

Feeling how deeply supported you are.

And it's as if this water is alive with a loving intelligence and you can feel it moving on your skin,

Caressing you with a deep love,

Awakening the intelligence within every cell of your body,

Every particle of your being,

Awakening a deep peace.

And you realize that you can drink this pure,

Sweet water,

Quenching a thirst that maybe you didn't even realize that you had until just now,

Quenching it,

Allowing the water to satiate and satisfy.

And when you're ready,

You can move right under that waterfall,

Feeling it pour over the top of your head,

All the way down,

Feeling the full power and the joy of letting go of any energy that no longer belongs with you.

Letting go of what no longer serves,

Just washing it away,

Knowing that everything is useful somewhere and allowing it to go,

Allowing it to find its place where it can be useful.

While you receive the pleasure of simply being purely and simply yourself,

Easily and effortlessly letting go of any energies that just don't belong with you or to you anymore,

Enjoying feeling the way it feels to be simply you.

And if there's any aspect of yourself that you have temporarily set aside or lost touch with,

Any forgotten truths that you currently need,

Any of your true power and strength,

Your authentic life force,

You can feel the water bringing it back to you here now,

Replenishing,

Reawakening.

And there's a sense that with every breath,

More and more,

You are filled and immersed with your deepest,

Most authentic being,

Leaving you completely restored.

And you can stay here as long as you like,

Just enjoying yourself,

Deepening the experience with each breath.

And if you enjoy this state that you're in,

And if you'd like to have it available at other times,

Ask your inner mind to memorize how you feel right now so that you can come back to this place anytime that you like in the future.

In a moment,

I'm going to begin to count from one to five.

And on the count of five,

You will return to your everyday awareness with a brand new sense of invigoration,

Integration,

Freedom and renewal.

The ability to flow well and appropriately with whatever comes,

Knowing that this waterfall is always available to you and you can return to it at any time.

You can come back here many times again and again,

Whenever you need it or simply want it in your sleep time and in your waking hours,

Bringing gifts of your truest self,

Deep peace,

Nourishing you,

Guiding you,

Sustaining you.

And so now I'm going to begin counting from one to five.

And as I do,

You'll begin to emerge from this wonderful state,

Coming back completely on the count of five,

Coming back fully refreshed and feeling fantastic.

Counting now,

One,

Beginning to come back,

Two,

Coming back,

Notice your breathing,

Three,

Coming back more and more,

Taking a deep breath of aliveness and wiggling those fingers and toes.

Four,

Almost completely back,

Take another deep breath of aliveness and five,

Completely back,

Open your eyes,

Feeling fantastic and ready to continue your day.

And this concludes this session.
