Welcome to the forgiveness meditation.
Start by taking a few deep breaths,
Breathing in and sending your breath deep into your lower abdomen.
Hold for three and breathe all the way out.
Take another deep breath,
Doing the same thing all the way deep into your lower abdomen.
Holding and then long exhale.
And one more breath the same way and exhale.
Now close your eyes if you've not done so already and visualize yourself standing along the shore of a beautiful body of water.
Feel the soft warm sand surrounding your bare feet.
As you stand there staring out at this large body of water,
You notice what is in the horizon.
Look around and see what surrounds the water.
Are there mountains or palm trees or beautiful endless beaches?
You see the colorful calming sunset in the horizon and its reflection off the water.
Allow yourself to feel the air on your skin,
Smell the fresh air and hear any sounds that may be going on around you.
Continue to allow your breath to fall back into a relaxed and rhythmic breathing.
You look up ahead of you and directly in front of you there is a long wooden pier.
You begin to take a step onto the pier and feel the wood under your bare feet.
You look down and can see the water rippling between the slats of the wood.
You continue to slowly walk forward watching each foot as you step deeper onto the pier.
Look around as you walk towards the end of the pier and really take in your surroundings.
Take a deep breath of the fresh nature air as you continue onto the end of the pier.
As you approach the end of the pier,
You notice a line up of large various sized boulders along the edge.
Each one of these boulders represents a resentment or someone that you need to forgive.
Ask your higher self,
Higher power or loved one to be with you during this process as you release what no longer serves you.
Look down at the first boulder.
Whose name is on it or what is the resentment?
Despite how big it is,
You have the strength to move it.
You feel its heaviness and how it has been burdening your life.
You tell that person or thing that you no longer wish to carry the burden anymore and you either roll it off the pier or pick it up and throw it over the edge deep into the water.
As you do so,
Say the following,
I forgive you,
I release you and I set myself free.
It is gone.
Take a deep breath and breathe out any remaining attachment that you had to that person,
Place or thing.
Now you move on to the next one and do the same thing.
Continue to do so down the row of boulders until you have released all burdens of unforgiveness that you have been holding onto.
I will give you several minutes of silence to release what you are ready to let go of.
Remember to offer the following words of healing with each boulder that you throw over the edge.
I forgive you,
I release you and I set myself free.
I forgive you,
I release you and I set myself free.
I forgive you,
I release you and I set myself free.
I forgive you,
I release you and I set myself free.
I forgive you,
I release you and I set myself free.
As you look down the pier,
You notice one last boulder waiting for you.
You notice that it is the largest one.
As you look closely at it,
You see that your own name is on it.
It is yourself that requires the most forgiveness.
You deserve forgiveness for all of the pain and resentments that you have held onto for so long.
Forgive yourself for the sadness and suffering that you have experienced.
Forgive yourself for thinking that you were the problem.
Forgive yourself for thinking that you did anything wrong.
Forgive yourself for all the judgments you placed on yourself.
For not thinking that you are good enough,
Attractive enough,
Important enough,
Or lovable enough.
Forgive yourself for the self-abuse and self-condemnation.
Forgive yourself for the shame and blame.
Forgive yourself for the self-doubt and for not trusting yourself.
Forgive yourself for putting others' needs before your own.
Forgive yourself for not being loving towards yourself.
Now give that big boulder a push.
If it is too heavy,
You can ask your spirit guides or loved one to assist you.
As it rolls off the edge of the pier,
Once again offer these healing words of forgiveness.
I forgive myself.
I release myself and I set myself free.
Take a deep and cleansing breath as you experience a new lightness and peace within you.
Bask in that blissful space as you feel the natural breeze wash over you and cleanse your soul and energetic field.
You have released the burdens that you have been carrying for so long.
Forgiveness gives you the freedom to move forward.
Offer blessings for each one of the boulders that you released as they no longer serve you.
You are now free to move forward with love and compassion.
Please be gentle on yourself regarding anything that may have surfaced during this meditation.
Express gratitude to yourself for taking this time to release old burdens and nurture yourself.
You may come back to this meditation as often as needed to release any new resentments that make him up.
Remember you are loved,
You matter,
And you are enough.
Namaste.
