In his opening 3-minute explanation, Tony Samara takes us beyond the adult mind to where the reactive little child is feeling things more intensely, and leads a gentle yet profound 13-minute meditation to open up communication with the inner sense (innocence) of the inner child, so that a structure of maturity, positivity, healing, understanding and reassurance is created. Thank you for choosing one of Tony Samara's meditational tracks today.

Just making sure that you're relaxing and letting go of just the everyday type situations and coming back to the awareness,

Not just of your body,

But the awareness that you're here present to the energy flow that's happening within you.

Not the mental flow or the emotional flow or the physical connection that you have with the world,

But rather just the flow,

The energy that flows through you.

Just spending a few moments connecting,

Being present,

Aligning yourself to the energy flow within.

If you find your mind wandering off and thinking or connecting to situations and not really able to come back to this deep state of inner presence,

Then it's always a good idea to check in with your inner child.

So if you're feeling agitated or upset or irritated or just tense,

Just the situation is intense,

You may want to check in with the little child inside of you.

This means that beyond the adult mind,

There is this reactive little child,

Especially when tired or when not heard and not understood,

This reactive little child inside of you that feels things more deeply,

Feels things intensely.

You can connect to this inner child to help reassure and nurture this inner child so that the child can come back,

Mature into a state of presence that allows positivity and wellbeing,

That allows healing and understanding.

Very often it takes very little for the inner child to come back to this realization that yes,

There is nurture,

Yes,

There is comfort,

Yes,

There is love,

Yes,

There is a wonderful reassuring structure that allows for transformation.

But if the inner child is all caught up in the upsetness or the agitation or the separation or the hurt or the misunderstanding,

Then now you can just reassure your inner child or nurture your inner child into understanding that this is not really the complete picture of the situation.

And as an adult,

Of course,

You understand this.

The mind understands this to a certain conceptual level.

Your feelings,

Your adult feelings understand this to a certain point.

Your body understands this,

But to take it to a deeper subconscious level,

Then when you connect and check in with your inner child,

You're allowing for a depth of understanding that goes beyond just the normal mental conceptual understanding of situations or even the emotional physical understanding of situations.

The subconscious is like the iceberg that's submerged under the sea.

You don't really see it,

But it's part of the structure and it's a very important part of the structure.

So when you connect to your inner child in this way by just taking a few moments now to breathe more deeply,

Breathe more deeply into the abdomen,

Relax the body,

Relax the shoulders,

Relax the tension,

Make sure that you are sitting upright so that the sternum is pointing outwards.

Make sure that you're able to hold the muscles together.

You're not scrunched,

Reflecting perhaps on the state of mind that creates such a physical structure,

You know,

Scrunched or not really allowing your body to breathe in this natural flowing way.

Notice if this is the case,

Then just ask the inner child to just open up a little bit and open your body so that you show the inner child that it's okay to sit in a way where you can breathe more deeply into the abdomen,

Where you can relax into the breath and just let go of the tension around the shoulders,

Around the jaws,

The tension in the body.

Take the time to breathe and relax into this deeper state of relaxation and you will notice as you do this that you're feeling something.

You'll notice what you're feeling through awareness.

You begin to understand,

Oh,

I'm feeling something.

Very often we're rushing around,

Listening to the mind,

Connected to the perceptions of the mind,

But not really in touch with our feelings.

In meditation as you sit still,

You connect to the feeling.

It doesn't have to be dramatic.

It doesn't have to be painful.

You just recognize I am a feeling person.

So take time to breathe and relax into the feelings.

Noimee.

Deep breath and relaxing on the out breath deep breath As you breathe in and breathe out,

Notice what you're feeling.

You don't have to connect to a dramatic feeling.

You can just notice the subtle feelings that your body communicates to you.

It's important as you breathe into the abdomen that you ground yourself so that you're in alignment with the energy that's flowing through your body.

It may be helpful to imagine a little boy or a little girl inside of you connecting to those feelings or having those feelings.

So you're just connecting to the inner child,

The little boy that is you,

The little girl that is you.

The child is young.

The child doesn't really know the world very well,

Hasn't had the time to mature and develop this part of themselves,

The connection to feelings.

You can just connect to the inner child through an image or even a gut sense,

An inner knowing.

For some,

This is really what the inner child is about,

This gut sense or this inner sense that you know.

It's almost like you intuitively connect to the little child,

The little boy,

The little girl inside of you and the feelings that are there but not quite understood.

Take a few moments to just breathe into the abdomen,

To the belly area,

Relaxing the rest of the body.

Deep breath.

Deep breath.

Remember the little child inside of you sometimes requires a little bit of attention,

A little bit of presence,

A little bit of connection to be able to communicate more clearly.

So just give this attention.

The child needs your attention,

Your awareness.

Just sense the child's presence inside of you.

Just sense,

Understanding that perhaps how old this little child is inside of you.

And then just begin to commune or connect to the child in this sort of giving and receiving way.

Giving,

Sense of understanding,

Giving,

Sense of communication to the child so that the child can respond within this space that you're creating,

The space of presence where communication happens.

So perhaps your gut feeling just communicates to you in a subtle way and now that you're very present it's more easy to understand the subtlety of this communication.

Perhaps the communication is the child just wants your presence,

Just wants your time,

Just wants to be reassured,

Held,

Just wants to be creative and play,

Just wants to be.

Spend a few moments as you breathe in and breathe out and relax into the space,

The space of awareness.

Spend a few moments just being present to this communication.

Don't involve the mind too much.

Just sense from a deeper part of yourself the subtle communication that's happening and very often is happening all of the time.

Deep breath.

Remember to be present in the communication.

So if the child wants to be,

The inner child wants to be reassured,

Just be present.

You don't have to do anything.

You just be there for the child.

Just be there communicating the reassurance that it's okay.

It's okay to communicate.

It's okay to feel.

It's okay to express whatever it is that needs to be expressed in this sort of gentle way that you're now allowing as you create this space of awareness,

As you create this space of presence.

If it's difficult you can just imagine what the child wants.

Imagination very often connects to the subconscious.

So when you activate imagination in this way you're just sort of allowing the subconscious to be more in control of the communication rather than the mind or the ego mind.

So continue to allow this process of openness,

Communication so that the inner child relaxes into the space.

The inner child can then give and receive without fear,

Without holding back,

Without feeling misunderstood.

As you open up,

Communication becomes more gentle,

More soft,

But at the same time more real.

Deep breath.

Deep breath.

You may notice that as you do this that you gently come back to a space of confidence or deeper relaxation.

Perhaps the fear or the upsetness or the tension or the difficulty becomes less important and the focus now is so much more clear you are in a state of deeper communication.

This communication continues in your meditation.

There is no need to push or try to do anything.

Just allow for this space to be more and more part of your experience,

Be more present to the communication flow that is happening.

And you will notice as you go deeper into a state of meditation,

As you close your eyes and just drift without having to hold on to something or without having to make sense of something,

You just drift into the deeper state of consciousness that allows you to be in communication and alignment to the inner child.

You will notice that you are more relaxed,

You are more confident,

You are more joyous,

You are more happy,

Where at least deep inside this happiness begins to bubble up to the surface and you will notice a difference in your day.

So make sure that your mind just relaxes into this deeper state of relaxation.

It's a very good way to recover from lack of sleep or to recover from tension or emotional intensity.

Just to relax as you would when you fall into a deep state of consciousness when you're sleeping,

To relax and to let go.

You may wish to continue for a few more moments,

Just in the deep stillness that happens when you're relaxing and letting go of the mind's activity of the emotional intensity as you let go and you allow your inner child to be hugged by consciousness,

By presence.

Notice throughout the day how your inner child is more able to be comfortable with receiving the information that you are now transmitting through your meditation.

That is that it's okay that you love your inner child,

That you will nurture your inner child.

And so then the child can be more creative and more pleasant in the way that communication happens because it feels nurtured.

Your little child inside of you feels nurtured,

Feels loved,

Feels cared and reassured,

Cared for and is reassured by your state of presence.

You will notice this throughout your day,

But perhaps it's helpful to just take a moment and to connect again to the inner child.

This means just coming back to the abdomen,

Relaxing the tension,

Just being present to the moment.

Deep breath as you continue.

Thank you.

Thank you! That was Amazing and astonishing how much that resonated with me. That feeling as a child of being trapped inside myself not feeling able to speak my truth for whatever reason, of feeling restrained, restricted from expressing myself I have carried into my adult life. Today I was able to hug my inner child and say your OK, it's OK. So now it's to transfer that feeling into adult life and get that feeling that it's OK to express myself and leave that feeling of being restrained behind so thank you. I am grateful for this and insight timer for doing what you do 😊
