With the new school year right around the corner,

We're going to focus on how to get ready for that year,

Setting goals and intentions so that you can have the best school year ever.

You can play this meditation once or as many times as you like,

Even playing it again during the school year to help yourself feel strong and ready.

Lie down and allow yourself to become very comfortable.

If you feel like it,

You can close your eyes now.

But just start to pay attention to how your breath flows in and out of your body.

Doesn't that feel wonderful and calming?

As you exhale,

Imagine exhaling everything that's happened this summer,

All the fun that you've had,

Maybe even being bored.

And now imagine bringing in peacefulness and a feeling of being ready to start that new year.

You feel so calm and peaceful and relaxed right now.

School will start soon.

And this new and fresh season is a good time to make room for all of the wonderful things that you will learn and experience this year.

You are growing and changing and learning every day.

And this school year brings a new you,

A better you,

A smarter you.

Think about how exciting it is to start something new.

Think about new friends,

New classes,

New teachers,

And how all of this will add to your life.

This is what it's like in life.

We choose new goals and things to strive for or work for.

And as we do,

We feel amazing and good every time we accomplish them.

We can always work to be the best us that we could possibly be.

Think about something right now you want to accomplish or get done this school year.

Something that you might want to improve on even.

What is it that you'd like to do better?

Focus on that for a moment right now.

And imagine yourself growing and learning and becoming better at that.

As you're picturing that,

See it in your mind as if it's already real and already true.

All of the people who love you are surrounding you and they're cheering you on.

And you're so happy that you were able to accomplish this.

You can feel your heart well up and warm because of this achievement.

This is what you set your mind to and what you focused on.

Because of your focus and your effort to improve yourself,

You did it.

You made it happen.

You've come back for this next school year stronger.

And it's going to be a good year.

Thank you for joining me today in this meditation.

When you're ready,

Give your body a big stretch,

Open your eyes and say,

I can do this.
