Thank you for joining me today on this meditation of feeling strong and confident.

This exercise offers a way to deeply connect and may be different than a traditional meditation practice.

But it is one that you can use to remember who you are,

Especially if you forget.

It may also be helpful to have a notebook or a pen so that you can journal at the end of this exercise.

There might be things that come up for you to solidify in your head,

And journaling is a way to do that.

In addition,

You may have notes or ideas in how you might carry out this confidence in feeling strong in your everyday life.

If you'd like to pause this meditation to go get those items,

This is a good time to do so.

If you will,

Find yourself a comfortable posture or position.

You can sit,

You can lay down,

Or you can even stand for this meditation.

And if you stand,

Take a superhero pose with your hands on your hips,

Your back straight,

And allow your chest to open up.

If you're comfortable,

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths through your nostrils.

Now imagine yourself in a difficult situation.

This may be something that is coming up,

Or maybe it brings some sort of fear or anxiety,

Or it could even be something that you have experienced in the past.

As you think of this incident,

Continue to breathe,

Taking in full deep breaths,

Pausing and exhaling.

Recognize any fear or aversion that is present when you bring this event to mind.

As you think of the fear,

Continue to expand your chest as you breathe,

Inhaling and exhaling.

Maybe you want to ask for a raise,

Need to have a difficult conversation with a loved one,

Or have an upcoming appointment that is bringing you some worry.

Rather than playing this story out in your head,

Ask yourself,

What is the strongest version of you,

And how would that person handle this?

Picture the strong self handling the situation with kindness,

Care,

Mindfulness,

Wisdom,

And patience.

As you visualize the situation in your head,

Make special effort to notice the strength within you.

Allow yourself to feel strong and confident.

And when you begin to doubt yourself,

Return back to that strong you.

Reconnect with your intentions of wisdom and compassion when things are difficult.

You can continue with one experience,

Playing it through multiple times.

You can also try working with a different situation or event,

But continue to connect to the strength that you have inside you.

If you have a spiritual connection or relationship,

Connect to that as well.

And know that the best you is possible.

Remember to breathe deeply and watch for any anxiety and worry.

When you finish this practice,

You may try writing in your journal about this.

And if you don't like to write,

You could also record your thoughts and feelings.

Although writing gives you a crystallized look at yourself as the strong you,

And it can help clarify how you're able to handle painful,

Stressful situations.

You've got this.
