The only thing I'm scared of,
The only thing that makes my human experience problematic is in many ways being determined to hold on to the lie about myself.
And in some ways we can say that that lie says this life thing is about me.
That's a good way to put it.
Me being the character who I think I am.
The me that wants to take everything personally.
The me that wants to be seen a certain way.
Do you see that that's what the character does?
Is it looks out into the world and essentially says,
Make this about me.
See me a certain way.
And I find that that's such an interesting mechanism,
Right?
To show up here and be like,
Hey,
This is about me now.
Well,
That's not true.
Furthermore,
It's about a me,
A character that doesn't even exist.
So it's certainly not true.
And in the spirit of that,
There is the truth of what it's actually about.
And that truth sets you free.
What is it actually about?
Well,
The truth is it's not about you,
Which can be incredibly freeing.
You can stop trying to make it about you,
Which means you can stop taking everything so damn personally.
But what it's really about,
Again,
Using silly words,
It's about what God has created.
It's about what God's doing.
It's about life itself.
It's about the miracle of existence.
It's about being here right now.
And furthermore,
You know,
In one breath,
I can understand someone says,
Well,
That's boring.
And then I respond to that by saying,
Well,
You clearly don't see this moment.
We could say life is about life.
Well,
That's boring.
Well,
Then you don't see life.
Right?
Like the depth of love that is inherent,
The depth of peace that is inherent,
The amount of forgiveness that is instant and inherent,
The depth of compassion for all that is,
The beauty and the symphony of nature itself.
That's what it's about.
Oh,
I didn't see that.
Yeah.
And so the classic question for me,
Essentially,
Do you want to go on trying to make this about you or would you rather just be here now?
Right.
Like,
And,
You know,
If you want to,
I invite you to look at that for yourself,
Right?
Like how much of the restriction,
How much of the inner resentments,
How much of the irritations all revolve around making life about you,
Right?
Which is,
You know,
How you're seen,
Which is the stuff you have or don't have,
Whatever.
How much of it is about making life about you?
And for myself,
It's all of it.
That's what I see.
It's all of it.
Trying to survive the lie of me.
And in one way,
Playfully,
It's embarrassing,
Right?
Because even though I see it,
I still watch the,
You know,
Human mechanism be the human mechanism.
Luckily,
There's an ocean of forgiveness.
So I don't even need to take that personally,
Right?
Like I don't even need to judge myself about that.
It's just all forgiven instantly.
