I invite you to become comfortable,
To settle into your body and your breath,
To see if it's possible to soften and sink,
To release and let go of anything that can be let go of in this moment,
And to give yourself permission to arrive here with nothing to fix,
Nothing to change,
Nothing to do,
Your body and your spirit to these words.
This meditation invites you to use your imagination,
If this is something that's difficult for you then please let go of striving to be imaginative and join in with the breathing when we get there.
So using your imagination if you want to,
Notice yourself walking through an ancient forest,
The sun is shining and causes dappled shade to fall across your path,
Your feet are bare and they connect with the softness beneath,
Moss and dead leaves,
Fungus and year upon year,
Layer upon layer of what has fallen on the forest floor,
Now supporting you as you take your steps.
You are aware of being accompanied by the wisdom and strength of this ancient forest,
There is peace here and safety,
You are not alone,
You are accompanied by strength and grace and these majestic trees,
You're aware of the forest creatures,
The birds and the insects,
As you continue to walk you notice your feet connecting with roots as they reach down and down and down into the depths of the air,
Pulling up nourishment and sustenance,
You too are part of this root system as your steps continue.
After some time you arrive at a large tree and you sit at its base,
Your spine connecting to its trunk,
As if spine to spine with this ancient wise one,
You let your body sink down into the softness beneath and you lean your head back,
Breathing in the peace and the contentment of simply sitting here.
Gradually you begin to notice your breath and the breath of the tree,
You breathe in the oxygen the tree gives you,
You breathe out carbon dioxide which the tree breathes in,
You and the tree in synergy,
In union,
Breathing together nourished and nurtured,
You continue this synergistic rhythmical breathing,
As you do you begin to breathe in I love you and breathe out I love you,
Breathe in I love you,
Breathe out I love you,
As you continue you are aware of your divinity and the presence of the beloved,
Of the divine in this moment,
Tree and you and divinity breathing together I love you,
I love you,
This dance of I love you and breath and tree and human and divine continues and you are caught up within it,
I love you,
I love you,
I love you,
I love you,
Here you remain,
Breathing,
Knowing,
Receiving,
Opening to all that is being given to you as you sit against the tree you notice the softness that remains beneath and how it supports and holds you you notice the strength at your back and lean into it you are aware of being divinely held and sustained I love you,
I love you remain,
Stay a while be blessed my friends,
Amen
