Welcome to this meditation for when you're feeling lost.
Feeling lost within your own life can be an unsettling path.
It may be difficult to know exactly why you feel lost or even how it's happened.
The unfamiliarity of the place you are currently in may feel daunting and scary.
You may find yourself reaching out as a way to cling onto something solid only to find there's nothing there.
You may long to know yourself found and back on solid ground.
As we begin this meditation I invite you to settle.
Take a few deeper wider breaths and be aware of yourself in the room at this time in this space.
Be aware of any external noises and gently begin to bring your attention inwards away from the external.
Begin to bring your focus down away from the head into your body towards your feet.
As you do receive the grace to be present and to find rest and peace.
Know that right here you are met with love,
Kindness and great compassion.
Even as you feel yourself lost,
God's loving kindness always finds you and reaches out to your very depths.
As you come to stillness become aware of the sense of lostness you've been living with.
Does it live somewhere in your body?
Become gently attentive to the place inside where the lostness is living.
Welcome this sense of feeling lost giving it space to be seen and heard.
As you continue to be attentive to it simply notice what happens.
Do you feel any emotions surfacing?
Does an image,
A memory or a thought surface?
Allow what comes to come simply observing what is present.
Know that whatever has surfaced is being met with love.
Is being met with great compassion.
As you give attention to the lostness that you feel are you able to welcome it?
To let it be present for as long as it's needed.
Does anything change within you as you open yourself to trust the lost feeling?
As being fertile soil for new growth.
To be the womb in which new life is being formed.
Trust is leading to a new sense of home and of being found.
I invite you to imagine yourself on an unfamiliar path.
A path that you've not walked before.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What's it like underfoot?
Are you alone or do others accompany you?
How does it feel to be on this path?
How does it feel to be on this path?
As you continue along the path be aware of God's loving presence.
Be aware that you're not travelling alone but that God is your safe companion with you in every step.
Ask God for what you need as you travel this unfamiliar path.
What is being offered to you here?
Is anything being invited from you?
Is anything being invited from you?
Is anything being invited from you?
As this meditation comes to a close I offer this short poem.
Lost isn't such a bad place to find oneself.
They told us to avoid it at all cost as if it were a curse we place on ourselves.
But when you're truly lost lose sight of who you were told to be.
The pictures you were trained to see in place of yourself.
You'll finally open your eyes and look upon a sea full of dreams for you to fish for.
Lose yourself for a moment and find yourself in a world of possibilities.
May the love of Jesus Holy Spirit Mother Father God find you in this place where you feel lost.
May you experience yourself known,
Loved and found again.
Amen.
