The simplicity of The Welcoming Prayer creates a doorway into deeper places of acceptance. To surrender and accept leads to deeper peace, contentment and joy. Life very often brings us what we didn't want or expect. We can be thrown off balance and loose our sense of groundedness. This prayer helps us stabilise and find home once again. We begin with some reflection and questions, then The Welcoming Prayer is read.

Hello friends and welcome to this meditation on the welcoming prayer.

Allowing the welcoming prayer to offer its gift of openness.

As we come to this meditation I invite you to come to stillness.

And as I'm recording outside and we have the sounds of nature and life,

I'm simply going to allow some space for you to listen to all the sounds in the garden at this time.

And in that time settle in,

Let go,

Come to stillness.

The sounds of nature complete with my yellow Labrador chewing a stick.

Oh Mothy.

So I'm going to read the welcoming prayer and then we're going to linger on the last line.

Welcome,

Welcome,

Welcome.

I welcome everything that comes to me today because I know it's for my healing.

I welcome all thoughts,

Feelings,

Emotions,

Persons,

Situations and conditions.

I let go of my desire for power and control.

I let go of my desire for affection,

Esteem,

Approval and pleasure.

I let go of my desire for survival and security.

I let go of my desire to change any situation,

Condition,

Person or myself.

I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within.

I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within.

I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within.

Open,

Open,

Open.

Be with this word,

Receive it,

Let it settle on your heart and help it find a welcome within.

Open,

Open,

Open.

As you sit with this word,

What do you notice within yourself?

How does it make you feel?

Does anything shift within as you meditate on the word open?

Open,

Open,

Open.

Is there any part of you that you sense is being invited to open?

Open,

Open,

Open.

I open to the love and presence of God.

The love and presence of God.

Love.

Linger with the words love of God or simply the word love.

What do you notice within yourself as you linger in these words,

In this word,

Love?

Is there any part of you that needs or wants to receive love more deeply in this moment?

Is there anywhere within that needs to remember that you're loved?

Receive love.

Let it come as a balm,

An ointment.

Let it be whatever it needs to be for you in this moment.

God's action within.

Does this loving action find a resting place within?

What is the action that God or love is working in you these days?

Do you notice the changes that have been occurring as God's action works?

Rest in God's loving care of you and her action within you even when you're unaware.

To end this meditation,

I'm going to read the welcoming prayer one more time.

Welcome,

Welcome,

Welcome.

I welcome everything that comes to me today because I know it's for my healing.

I welcome all thoughts,

Feelings,

Emotions,

Persons,

Situations and conditions.

I let go of my desire for power and control.

I let go of my desire for affection,

Esteem,

Approval and pleasure.

I let go of my desire for survival and security.

I let go of my desire to change any situation,

Condition,

Person or myself.

I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within.

I let go of my desire for love and protection.

I let go of my desire for love and protection.

Lovely to sit in a garden bursting with sound and dwell on certain powerful phrases from the Welcoming Prayer. I also enjoyed the "subversive" use of "She" when referring to God ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is beautiful and very challenging I struggle to welcome everything,i was taught to question every thing and fight what was wrong Nontheless" welcoming the presence and actions of love " is slowly working it's magic โ™พ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

Thank you for this. I really felt my heart open up, just the same as I found it beckoned within the loving hospitality of God, who welcomes all to His Dwelling Place.
