As we come into this meditation on courage I invite you to come to stillness closing or lowering the eyes and gently bringing awareness to the rhythm of your breathing and as you follow that rhythm allowing the day so far to fall away letting go of what's to come receiving the grace to be present allow yourself to be held in love and kindness fully supported seen and known know that you are accepted exactly as you are today as thoughts or distractions come observe them without judging and then let them go for these moments simply be here and receive what you need I begin this meditation with a quote from st.
Teresa of Aviva courage courage my daughters remember God gives no more troubles than she is able to bear and God is with those in tribulation when we think of courage we often imagine a brave heart seen of someone going into battle sword in hand we may imagine a heroic act of bravery or standing up to a bully courage comes in many forms it doesn't mean the absence of fear but often involves acting in spite of fear being present as I ask these questions I will give a few moments of silence at the end of each one do I need the courage to admit that I'm feeling afraid do I need the courage to express my needs rather than ignore them do I need the courage to care for myself as well as others and accept that it's okay to put me first sometimes do I need the courage to admit I messed up and someone else was right do I need the courage to ask for forgiveness do I need the courage to be vulnerable and honest about how I feel do I need the courage to face uncertainty do I need the courage to choose a new path do I need the courage to say yes do I need the courage to say no do I need the courage to let go of someone or something that I've been clinging onto do I need the courage to simply be in the silent still place of doing nothing do I need the courage to let myself rest do I need the courage to dare to hope again do I need the courage to trust the journey ahead whatever it may bring do I need the courage to ask for help if one or two of those questions stood out to you I invite you to place it within your heart and sit with it over the coming days courage my daughters remember God gives no more troubles than she is able to bear and God is with those who are in tribulation may courage come to you as a gift may it bring you what you need for healing freedom restoration and forward movement may courage be yours today amen
