Welcome to this meditation on Be Still and Know That I Am God.
I'm recording outside on a spring day in the UK,
So welcome the sounds of nature,
Perhaps a car going by on aeroplane overhead.
Let them become part of your experience.
In preparation I invite you to come into a comfortable upright position and place your hands on your heart,
Taking three deep wide breaths as a way to arrive.
Follow the journey of air through the nose,
Throat,
Chest and into the lungs and belly before then being exhaled.
In the exhale let everything fall away,
Thoughts,
Demands,
To-do lists and worries.
In this moment nothing is required except to simply be here and breathe.
Allow the chair to hold and support you,
Gently dropping away from your head and simply being present to your breathing.
Welcome stillness.
Welcome peace.
Welcome this opportunity to lean back into the beloved and be seen,
Fully known and deeply loved.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
Welcome these moments to simply be,
Just as you are,
Fully accepted,
Completely loved,
Just as you are.
This space is a compassionate,
Kind and loving space.
Extend these towards yourself as you simply rest and be you in this moment.
Here divine love is present in her fullness.
The kind,
Compassionate and tenderness of the beloved is here.
Notice what it's like to be here.
Notice anything that begins to emerge in the quietness.
If anything rises to the surface,
You may want to name it out loud.
You may want to imagine placing it in the compassionate,
Tender love of the spirit.
Give anything that has arisen,
Any feelings,
Emotions and thoughts,
Space to be,
Without criticising or judging them.
Simply allow them and welcome them.
In this place of simply being,
Become aware of your body.
Is there any part of your body that feels off,
Tense or knotted?
Allow your awareness to settle on anything that comes to your attention.
In the stillness,
Allow these body senses to tell you what you need.
Allow your needs to surface,
Becoming attentive to them.
As you sit in the beloved's loving tenderness towards you,
You may want to put out your hands to receive all that's being offered to you in this moment.
Thank you and enjoy your pastor.
Ending once more with the words from Be Still.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
Amen.
