A warm welcome to you.
My name is Fleur Chambers and as always,
It's my pleasure to spend this time with you.
When life is busy,
Joy often falls under the radar.
This meditation is a beautiful opportunity to invite joy in.
You can listen to it anytime you feel like opening your heart,
Feeling less burdened and more light and free.
So as always,
In your own time,
Settling into your preferred meditation posture today,
Really listening to what your body needs,
Closing down your eyes if you like,
And enjoying three deep,
Life-affirming breaths.
These sacred breaths,
An instant reminder that you are here,
Alive in this moment.
Body breathing,
Heart beating within your chest,
Senses awake to this moment.
As you notice sounds far away and sounds closer by,
As you notice the feel of your clothes on your skin,
The air as it enters and leaves your body.
Perhaps you can see or sense colors as they dance behind your closed eyes,
Or a faint taste within your mouth.
Just one breath and another,
Reminding you that your experience is always changing,
Knowing that here in this moment,
You are safe amidst the natural ebb and flow of life.
Breathing deep into your heart for a few breaths now,
Each breath offering your heart fresh oxygen,
Life force,
Each breath gently waking your heart.
As your heart wakes,
Allowing your shoulder blades to move gently down your back,
Resting in this posture of receptivity and openness.
Now imagining that you are looking up into a perfect blue sky,
And contained within the sky is the essence of a smile.
This sky,
Expansive and beautiful,
It's smiling at you,
Quietly whispering to you that you are safe and supported.
Feeling the energy of this smile shine down on you,
Softening your shoulders,
Warming your heart,
Relaxing your body,
Filled with a gentle glow.
You offer this smile to the earth beneath you.
On the exhale,
Offering your sense of inner smile to the earth below.
And as you do this,
Trusting that the earth is remembering all the moments of joy in your life,
As above,
So below.
The energy of a smile shines down from the sky,
Landing within your body and heart,
So that you may send it into the earth beneath you.
And can you allow this gentle experience of connection to feel like a small joy,
An opportunity for you to remember that you are expansive like the sky,
And grounded like the earth from here.
Can you allow a memory to emerge of a time recently when you felt joy,
Taking your time to bring the details to mind and heart.
Was it night or day?
Were you inside or outside?
Were you alone or in company?
What else can you notice about this moment of joy?
As best you can,
Stay with this memory a little longer,
Opening to any clues it has for you,
Perhaps insight into what is important to you,
Or to your values.
Noticing how,
Even though this specific moment in time is gone,
You can still receive its gifts.
This moment of joy was impermanent,
But the joy can live on in your memory and in your heart.
Breathing a deep sense of gratitude into this memory,
Welcoming any emotions that are arising for you,
Casting your mind back now to a moment from your youth,
Perhaps your childhood,
Your adolescence,
A moment when you experienced joy,
Trusting whatever memory emerges.
Don't overthink it,
And offer this memory your warm-hearted curiosity as you notice what you are doing.
If you are sharing this experience with anyone else,
Joy as an energy can travel time and space.
So here in this moment,
Really breathing in this joyful expression from your younger self with each breath,
Allowing this expression of joy to land within your adult body,
Resting here in the peaceful awareness that joy is safe to come and go.
There's no need to cling on,
Allowing joy to be your teacher as you inquire,
How can I bring this childlike essence into my adult life?
What do I desire more of?
Breathing deep into any wisdom that is here for you,
Any clues.
Just as we can recall the energy of joy from past experiences,
We can also send joy out into our future,
Taking a moment now to imagine your days unfolding with more joy.
What would you do more of?
What would you say yes to?
Really creating this image in your mind's eye,
Knowing that as you do,
You're sending a message to the universe that you are ready to experience more moments of joy.
And getting honest with yourself now,
As you ask yourself,
What do I need to let go of in order to experience more joy?
Trusting whatever insights are emerging and with each long smooth exhale,
Letting go,
Sealing your practice with one grateful breath,
Returning your awareness to the space you are in,
Scanning your environment and noticing things with fresh eyes and a more joyful heart.
