Welcome to this Green Step Meditation.

This is designed to help us really experience an honour or grief that we feel about the world as it is.

So,

In this space I'm going to guide you into what feels,

What might feel like a heavy or dark place and I invite you to go with it,

Go into it,

Be with it.

And I promise we will leave and arrive out of this with a lightness.

So I invite you to go deep and I invite you to really meet what you find with grace and love.

No easy task but I hope that I can be here to help guide and support you in that process.

So,

Begin by closing your eyes and getting really comfortable.

Well maybe get comfortable first and then close your eyes.

Get comfy,

Lie down maybe or maybe sit somewhere,

Have a blanket and just make sure that you feel very supported and held in whatever space you're in.

And I invite you to start to deepen your breath,

Really feeling your lungs expanding in your chest and your belly.

Beautiful.

Really deepening your breath down to your belly,

Breathing in light and releasing and sinking down deeper into the seat that you are in.

Breathing in lightness deeper than the last two breaths and sinking down deeply into the space that you're in right here right now.

And I invite you now to just let your breath flow in whatever way feels right for you in this moment.

And we're going to go there.

We're really going to look at and embrace the world that is.

And we're in a world of massive inequality,

Of disconnect between ourselves and nature.

Disconnect between ourselves and other people.

There's disconnect in our production lines,

Even though they're called production lines,

Like between the people who make the clothes we wear,

The food we eat.

And the truth of the suffering that is in the world,

The relationship we have with animals,

The relationship we have with plants,

Editing and growing them to suit us and our needs of rapid expansion.

And whether you as an individual,

You know,

Fit into this or not,

This isn't about blaming.

It's just about acknowledging what is.

And ultimately that is the system that we are in.

It's the world,

How the world is playing out.

And it's really hard to really face,

To really embrace.

In fact,

Chances are you really don't want to embrace it.

And you do everything in your power to push away from that.

God Almighty,

No,

We're not going there.

Oh,

I'm with you on that one.

But in the interest of wholeness,

It is absolutely essential that we learn to love those parts of ourselves and the world around us as much as we possibly can.

So I'd like to just ask you,

How do you feel in this moment when we think about that,

When we really think about those things in the world that we really hate,

Really feel so much sadness for and grief and anger,

Resentment.

Let those feelings be here.

Invite them into this space.

It's safe to go there.

It's safe to go there.

You are held and supported by the earth beneath you,

By yourself,

By this space.

Let yourself feel it.

And breathe.

The breath brings flow.

The breath lets it go.

And the more you breathe into these feelings,

The more you allow them.

It allows for expansion,

It allows for movement,

Rather than letting it be something that you're too afraid to look at or you're too busy to look at or you just don't want to go there.

By now here in this moment,

Going there and being there,

You're allowing the flow.

And like a river,

What's coming from upstream will come to pass in not as much time as you'd expect.

It actually flows and moves quite quickly.

So breathe into whatever you're feeling.

And I invite you to notice where do you feel it in your body?

Right here,

Right now,

What are you feeling and where do you feel it when you think about the state of the world that we live in?

The destruction of nature,

The inequality,

The disconnect.

I am here with you in spirit and holding this space for you and it is safe to go there.

Where do you feel it in your body?

Breathe it in.

Maybe you're breathing into a big ball of lots of things going on.

Maybe there's a specific niggling thing arising.

And if you choose to do this meditation more than once,

Different things may arise.

So whatever is there right now,

Breathe into that.

And I invite you to ask what colour is it?

If it was a colour,

What colour would it be?

Trusting that the first one that arises in your mind's eye is the right one.

Whether you see or think or feel it,

Taste it,

Whatever way works for you,

Just trust that the right ones comes at the right time.

How does it feel?

What texture is it?

Is it sharp?

Is it soft?

Is it gloopy?

Is it painful?

And in what way?

Right here,

Right now,

You're safe to feel it.

Let yourself feel it.

Let yourself go there.

And if anger is rising up inside you,

Let it.

If tears are asking to flow down your cheeks,

Let them.

It is safe to go there.

Those feelings are valid.

Those feelings are necessary.

That's part of the beauty of being human.

Can you look at this from that perspective?

How beautiful is it that you can feel that intensity of emotion?

That wave rising up in your chest?

That knot in your belly?

Can you appreciate how uniquely human that is?

And right now,

In this moment,

You are taking the time and the space in this ultimate act of self-compassion to really,

Truly meet those parts of yourself.

And that is so beautiful.

And by just breathing and inviting them,

You're not trying to edit or alter or shift and change your experience.

You're truly meeting yourself.

Right here,

Right now.

In this beautiful humanity.

And the beauty of this is that as you breathe,

Continue to breathe deeply.

You can meet this humanity with the light of your consciousness,

Your conscious awareness of these emotions,

These sensations,

This moment here and now.

You can meet it with grace and with love.

Just by honoring its presence and saying you are valid.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for showing me how much I care.

Because at the root of that is love.

It is the love that you hold for this planet.

All the beings that live upon it.

The plants,

The oak tree,

The animals,

The fox.

The stones,

The water,

The mountains,

The sky and the humans,

The people you love so dearly.

And even those people and bear with me now,

Who are causing the destruction on this earth.

I extend your love to them for because of their actions,

They are showing you how much you love and how big your love is inside of you.

With all of these feelings,

All of these beautifully valid emotions.

And this true divinity.

And that might be a challenge to go there to do that and that is okay.

Because this is a practice.

A practice that takes time.

Well on your way on that journey.

The journey of being and living.

Just take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to yourself for showing up and being right here right now.

And now I'm going to invite you to breathe deeply again.

As we shift our awareness.

All of these emotions are still here.

They're still valid.

And maybe as you breathe it,

They've shifted and molded and changed.

Now I just invite you to bring your awareness to your own awareness.

Of your body resting where it is.

Your breath flowing.

Sensations on your skin.

Any sound in the air around you.

The beauty of just being right here right now.

And I ask you to become aware of the brilliant light of the sun.

Whether it's out and about today or not.

Whether it's night or day.

That sun is shining.

Ever present,

Ever glowing.

And with that knowing,

I invite you to call that energy down around you.

The bright light of the sun shining down.

Through the top of your head.

Into every neuron in your brain,

Every cell.

Every thought pattern,

Every memory.

Breathing in the bright clarifying,

Purifying light of the sun down into your brain.

Letting it flow down your face.

Cheekbones.

Your lips.

Your tongue.

Your throat.

The back of your head.

Your neck.

Your shoulders.

Down your arms.

Your right arm,

Your left arm.

To your fingertips.

Even give them a little wiggle.

Full of light.

Bright light fingers.

And breathe this beautiful energy of the sunlight down into your heart space.

Breathing it in deeply into your lungs.

Drinking in this lightness.

To your heart.

Every muscle.

Every fibre of your heart muscle beating your blood throughout your whole body letting that light to your blood.

Your lymph nodes,

Your immune system.

Down to your kidneys,

Your liver,

Your stomach.

Every cell in your body filling up with this white,

Bright light of the sun.

Breathing it down and into your intestines,

Your gut,

Your immune system.

Every vertebra of your spinal column,

Your spinal cord.

Feel it pulsing like electricity throughout your whole body as it goes down to your pelvis.

To your womb space or your hara filling up your pelvis,

The base of your spine.

Your bladder,

Your sexual organs,

Your thighs,

Your knees,

Your calves and your shins.

Down to your feet,

Your toes letting them wiggle a little bit as they bask in this glow of the sun.

Light and bright and filling up your whole being and breathe.

Breathe in this light.

Letting it assist your process.

Letting it lighten the load.

Letting it spark your creativity and your love.

And imagine now in the centre of your heart a seed of golden light.

As you focus on it,

It grows and grows brighter and brighter.

This bright golden light of your heart,

Your love,

Your compassion.

Let it radiate out from your heart.

So that it fills up your whole energy field,

The room you're in or the outdoor space you're sitting in.

And sit in this light of the sun and of your own divine heart.

Letting yourself be in your own radiant glow.

Feeling the strength,

The power of your love,

Your light shining bright.

And invite roots to grow from the base of your body,

Any points of contact with the floor,

The surface beneath you.

And letting them grow down,

Down to the earth below.

The nourishing earth.

And send some of your beautiful golden light down to that earth,

Offering your beautiful love and light to the earth.

This golden light of gratitude and love flowing down through your roots.

And offering it as nourishment,

As tonic.

To the soil beneath you,

The earth or mother.

And notice how your light is still so abundant and bright.

And gently I invite you to call your awareness back to your body.

Calling your soul light in around you.

Until it's exactly the size that feels right.

Maybe it's a little golden ball in your heart again or you've got a bright golden orb around your whole body.

Play with the sensation,

This feeling.

Let it rest where it feels easy and graceful and fun,

Light and bright.

Thank you for being here,

Connecting to your pain,

Your darkness,

Heaviness.

And for being here and arriving in the light,

The divinity.

And how the divinity,

That brightness and lightness meets and holds all aspects of you.

And that is true for every single moment of your life.

You can listen to this meditation as many times as you feel called to.

And know that you can call upon any of these images of light.

Anytime you feel like you need a little bit of extra assistance.

Please do use these tools to strengthen you and let you step up and out and into the brightness of your being.

The world needs you now more than ever.

Thank you so much and I'll connect with you soon.
