Here is a loving-kindness mini-meditation that lets everyone settle back and breathe and then connect to someone they love, someone they have difficulty with the greater world and community, and finally yourself, wishing you happiness, peace, and loving-kindness and then coming back through the breath and continuing your day connecting to loving-kindness within yourself, your loved ones, and the greater world.

Transcript

Begin by settling back,

Get as comfortable as you can,

Gently close your eyes and switch off all of the responses all over your body as your muscles begin to ease off further and further.

Just take in a nice deep breath right in through your nose and let it go slowly and evenly.

Let's try that again.

Breathing in,

Holding it at the top and breathing out slowly on the exhale.

And one more beautiful inhale right in,

Holding it and letting it go in a nice slow exhale.

I want you to picture right now someone that you love,

Someone you are close to or even someone you don't know that you are wishing well.

Keep breathing and as you breathe out imagine sending out a beautiful beacon or ray of light to your loved one or even to a stranger,

Wishing them love,

Peace and happiness.

As you continue breathing,

Think the words,

May you be happy,

May you be free from suffering,

May you have peace.

Keep sending that loving energy to your loved one or to a stranger,

Wishing them peace,

Happiness and freedom from suffering.

Just send compassion to your loved ones,

Even to strangers who may be suffering right now and finally send that compassion back to yourself,

That self-compassion.

One more cleansing breath in through your nose and as you exhale wish peace and freedom from suffering for all human beings.

Gently open your eyes,

Stretch,

Yawn,

Smile,

Wiggle your fingers and toes and have a wonderful rest of the day.
