This is a guided visualization meditation designed to give yourself a quick midday break from any of the stresses of your day to day life.
You can do this meditation while you're sitting at your desk or anywhere that you can be free from distractions for a few moments.
This time is for you.
Either sit comfortably in a chair or lie down if you can.
Start by taking a couple of deep breaths in and out.
Now just breathe naturally.
On your next breath in,
Visualize a path in front of you.
Start to walk down this path.
As you go down this path,
Start to notice the ground you're walking on.
Look down at your feet and see soft grass below.
On both sides of the path,
Start to notice trees and flowers.
Feel the warmth of the sun shining gently on your face.
The light breeze coming from the ocean at the end of this path.
Start to see the ocean in the distance as you walk towards it.
Notice the smell of the healing salt water upon the breeze as you get closer and closer to the edge of the beach.
You are now arriving at the beach.
Take your next step off the grass and into the warm white sand.
Feel the soft velvety sand beneath your feet as you walk closer to the edge of the shore.
As you look ahead,
You see a beautiful clear blue ocean and see it stretch out into and beyond the horizon.
You step now into the edge of the water where the ocean meets the sand.
Feel the gentle flow of the waves washing over your feet.
Listen to the soothing sound of the rippling of the ocean around you.
Notice the distant sound of seagulls flying above the sea.
Now take a minute on your own to breathe in all of these sensations around you.
Take deep breaths in and out,
Embracing the tranquility and warmth of the ocean.
In your next couple of breaths,
Take a mental picture of this place and know that at any time you can come back to this place by closing your eyes and remembering this feeling.
It's now time to start walking back down the path that brought you to this beach,
Feeling refreshed,
Peaceful,
And at ease.
Slowly and gently start to come back into your body.
Take one last deep breath basking in the memory of your mini beach vacation.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes and come back into your world with a new sense of clarity and peace.
Go about the rest of your day and be kind and patient to yourself and those around you.
