Hello,

Welcome back to the Outer Space Bedtime Story series.

Our first of the series was a trip to Mars.

If you missed it,

You can always go back.

You don't have to do this series in order.

So let's get started.

Today we will be going on an adventure to the beautiful planet Saturn,

Adorned with a dazzling complex system of icy rings.

Saturn is unique in our solar system.

The other giant planets have rings too,

But none are as spectacular as Saturn's.

Some fun facts about Saturn.

It's the second largest planet in the solar system after Jupiter.

Saturn makes up the size of about nine Earths side by side,

Which doesn't include the icy rings that surround it.

Saturn is mostly made up of gases,

Hydrogen and helium.

It's surrounded by the most spectacular ring system.

Saturn has its own mini solar system with possibly up to 82 moons.

Let's get settled in your bed and get ready to go on this journey.

Make sure that you are comfortable to fall asleep.

If you don't fall asleep,

That's okay too.

The idea of the bedtime stories is to distract your mind so that you can decrease any stresses from the day to be able to fall asleep.

If you need a minute,

Just hit pause,

Get yourself settled and come back.

Now that you are settled in your bed,

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

But a big sigh as you breathe out.

Do that a couple more times.

Close your eyes and get ready for this journey to Saturn.

In your mind's eye,

Look up at the ceiling you are under.

See the ceiling starting to disappear and see the night sky starting to open up,

Getting clearer and clearer until you are now just floating,

But still being held by your bed.

You can see the stars glistening above you.

Take another deep breath in and start to feel your body gently floating up towards the sky.

As you get higher,

Your spacecraft starts to form around you.

You are now sitting safely in your spacecraft with your own controls.

Remember,

You are in control.

You can go up or down or in any direction that you wish.

You are going up and up through the fluffy clouds until you are through all the clouds.

Pause for a minute here to look down at the expansion below you.

You can see through the clouds down below the lights from the city or town you live in,

Letting off a slight glow.

Take a moment here and take a deep breath in and out.

Think about just one thing that you are grateful for.

Sometimes we get caught up in our lives.

We forget to pause and take a moment to breathe in gratitude for the things that we do have.

Just think of one thing,

Whether it's a person or maybe something that happened to you or even just a moment in time that you felt peace.

Good.

Now let's continue our journey.

Going up,

You're moving fast but steady and with control.

You're protected by the spacecraft that was designed specifically for you.

You can see all the stars glowing brighter and brighter as you start to cross over the Earth's atmosphere through to the stratosphere.

This flight is smooth and easy.

You can now see the curvature of the Earth with a bright glow surrounding the black space above.

It is big and very,

Very bright.

Continue through all the layers comfortable in your spaceship,

Getting closer and closer to outer space.

You can see less and less of Earth and more of stars.

Off in the distance,

You see a bright light shoot across the black sky.

Don't forget to pause and make a wish.

Breathe it in and out.

You look behind you and can see the bright glow of the sun as you head the other direction towards Saturn.

You start to see Mars in a distance,

Which we explored last time.

We get closer and see the red planet as we pass by and in a distance you can see Jupiter and Saturn.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system,

Which is also mostly made up of gases.

It is a large circular planet with a marbleized texture of different shades of browns and whites and lines going across.

As we get closer,

It gets larger and larger and so bright.

Maybe we'll have to come back one day and check this planet out,

But today we're just passing by on our way to Saturn.

As we start to pass this giant planet,

We start to see the edge of the majestic rings of Saturn.

From a distance,

You start to see clearer and clearer the different layers.

This is so mesmerizing.

You can see the rings spinning around this beautiful ball in the middle.

As we start approaching the planet and get closer to the rings,

The rings slowly start to lose that perfect shape and spreads out.

The rings are actually made up of ice,

Rock,

And dust that orbit the giant planet that appear to be rings from a distance.

Remember your spaceship is protecting you.

As we get closer and closer,

You can see the ice and rocks spreading out.

You can see spaces that you could easily travel through without being hit by any of them.

You take your gears and your spaceship and start driving in between the rocks and ice formations.

You notice a gap where the rocks are separated from the next ring in and notice that these moons within the gaps are helping to keep that overall shape,

Separating the rings apart.

You keep traveling through the different layers,

Passing all the rocks and moons,

Hearing whooshing sounds around you.

This is the sound of Saturn.

You finally reach the end of the rings and get to the most inner part of the planet.

There is a large gap free of any debris in between the rings and the circular center of the planet.

This is a safe area and we can stop here and just sit here for a few breaths.

Slight movement but controlled.

You look behind you and you can see a bright star in the distance.

That star is our beautiful home,

Earth.

Let's stay here breathing in and out and feeling the calm of where we are,

Just floating.

Breathe in through your nose,

Feeling the air coming in through your nostrils,

Deeply and slowly,

And out through your nose,

Calmly and slowly.

Once again,

I want you to remember that one thing that you are grateful for.

Breathe that in and out.

Now we are going to take a tour all the way around this clearing.

You take a deep breath in and turn towards your right and begin this adventure around within the center of Saturn.

It's such an amazing journey,

Almost like you're on a highway except it's floating ice and rock formations,

Perfectly on one side in the mist to which the inner core of what Saturn is made up on the other side.

We pick up speed and effortlessly make our way around.

Even though you're going fast,

It feels steady.

Now that we are going faster,

The rings and the planets start to appear more like we could see from a distance.

The planet is so huge and expansive,

It feels as though we are going in the straight line.

Remember your spaceship keeps you feeling comfortable and balanced.

You are safe on this extraordinary journey to the inner core of this magnificent planet.

It almost starts to feel like you aren't even moving.

You can see iridescent,

Mesmerizing,

Swirling colors of silky pale yellow,

Orange,

Greens,

And violets mixed in with white.

Pause here and just take it all in.

You begin to slow down and the colors start turning back into rock and ice formations.

You see an opening so you can head back out of the center of Saturn and with ease and no effort,

Your spacecraft takes you through and back out of the rings.

You are now back into the expanse of outer space looking back at Saturn.

You can now see the full extent and scale of the planet you just took an adventure inside.

Now let's just float here in this outer space world.

Bring your mind's eye into a soft gaze.

Instead of focusing on just one thing,

Through this soft lens you can see the glow of Saturn and Jupiter and all of the stars,

Including your home Earth.

For a few moments,

Take some deep breaths in and out,

Taking in all the beauty around you.

It's so easy to get caught up in our day-to-day challenges and forget just how many miracles we have around us.

Being out here reminds you of how big the universe is and how much we have to be grateful for.

Just the fact that you are sitting here breathing is a miracle and a blessing.

Life is full of beautiful moments and challenges up and down,

Somewhat like this journey through the spectacular rings of Saturn.

We are now ready to make our way back to Earth,

Back to our body,

Back to your comfortable bed.

I will leave the music playing at the end for you if you would like to stay in this space for a while or if you fall asleep.

We start making our journey back to Earth.

We are passing all the stars now.

Saturn's now in our rearview mirror.

Ahead,

Earth is no longer a star but a planet you can see.

You can see the glow around the globe with the green and blue colors getting brighter and brighter as you pass through the clouds.

You can now see where you live.

Getting closer,

You see your home and finally you see yourself through your roof sleeping soundly.

With ease,

You are back in your sleeping body and surrounded by your room safe in your bed.

Lay here for a while listening to the music if you haven't yet fallen asleep.

And remember,

You are unique and beautiful just like the planet we just visited.

As you fall asleep,

Remind yourself of what you're grateful for.

Breathe that in and out into a deeper sleep.

If you haven't fallen asleep yet,

That's okay.

Just lay here and relax further with the music and memories of this journey.

I hope you enjoyed this little outer space journey and hope to see you on our next journey to another beautiful planet.

You are a bright,

Magnificent star.

Good night,

Friend.

See you next time.
