Good morning.
This is Tanya Murphy.
Today I wanted to come and share a prayer that has been on my mind and heart.
I often have people come to me or leave comments that state that they are put off by the very mention of Christianity or Christ.
That they have been hurt by church people or by people in the Christian faith.
And now the very mention of Christianity or Christ is disturbing to them.
I would not do my due diligence as a woman of faith,
A Christian woman,
A woman who loves the Lord,
If I did not address this properly.
And I recognize that the way for me to properly address this is in prayer.
So today I pray for those who have experienced trauma as a result of church people hurt.
I say church people hurt and not church hurt because people are the ones who damage other people.
Christ never damages other people.
So I want to offer this prayer today out of love and compassion,
Out of repentance,
Knowing that the desire of God's heart is for us to be well and whole.
It's for us to walk with Him and trust Him.
And to know that there are those that have been so traumatized that the mere mention of the name of the Lord is distasteful,
It pierces my heart.
So I just ask that you join me in this brief prayer for all of our brothers and sisters who have been traumatized by church people hurt.
Father in the name of Jesus,
Lord,
I love you today.
I honor and worship you today.
There is no one like you,
Lord,
In all heaven and all earth.
And I thank you for waking me up this morning with a press on my heart for those that have been hurt and traumatized by people in the church.
God,
Today I ask that you lift those burdens,
Those pains,
Those traumas.
Father God,
I ask,
Lord,
That you move and minister in the hearts of those that have experienced the ugly that can sometimes come with people.
Father,
By the blood of Jesus,
Lord God,
I ask that you allow those that have experienced church people hurt to know that it was people who hurt them,
Not Christ,
Not the Lord,
But people.
People can be harsh,
Nasty,
Sometimes people can even be wicked.
But Lord,
Father,
You lift us up.
You are our burden bearer.
You love us and care for us no matter what.
So Father,
Today,
For those that have been hurt,
Those that have been manipulated and controlled instead of liberated and offered freedom in Christ,
I ask that you bring healing to their hearts and their minds and let them know that they are valuable to you,
That you love and care for them.
Father God,
That they are the head and not the tail,
That they are the first and not the last.
Father,
That they are your children and you care for them.
Lord,
That you see them and you know them.
Father,
That every hair on their head is important to you.
That Lord,
No matter their predicament,
Lord,
You're always available.
Father,
If they seek you,
They will find you.
Lord,
You have not hidden yourself from them,
Father.
You're always present,
A forever present help.
Help them,
Lord God,
To be healed in you.
Father God,
I ask today,
Lord God,
That you wrap your arms around them and let them feel a love and embrace,
Father God,
From you that they've never felt before.
Father,
Let them come to be able to trust that you care for them,
No matter what other people have said.
Father,
Give them discernment,
Lord God,
The ability to tune into your voice,
Lord God,
Because you care for them.
Lord,
For those that have hurt people,
I ask,
Lord God,
That you give them a heart of repentance.
Lord God,
That you minister to them right where they are,
That you bring a Holy Ghost conviction upon them right now in the name of Jesus.
Lord God,
I ask that you speak to them and help them to know that they mishandled your word and mishandled people.
And Father,
I ask that you bring correction to that.
I thank you,
God,
That you love us so much that you don't punish us,
That you correct us,
And I ask that you bring correction.
So,
Lord,
Today,
For those that have been walking downtrodden,
Hurt,
And traumatized by people,
I ask that they be healed and lifted and whole and set free by the Lord thy God.
Hallelujah.
Father God,
Lift every pain,
Lift every sorrow,
Heal every broken place,
And restore them,
Father God,
In their heart so that they,
Lord God,
Can see you as Lord,
Savior,
And King.
Thank you for who you are and all that you are,
And may this prayer touch and penetrate the hearts of all who hear it.
In Jesus' name,
I pray and I thank you,
Lord.
Amen.
