Good evening.
This is Tanya Murphy and welcome to this evening's meditation.
Wherever you are,
Just get somewhere and take a seat.
Get comfortable,
Whether that would be sitting on your bed,
Sitting in a chair,
Or lying down.
Now,
Make yourself comfortable.
Tonight,
I'm going to read a scripture that I find brings me peace and comfort,
And then we'll rest in that scripture as we just lull ourselves to sleep in the truth of God's word.
1 John 3.
1 says,
See how very much our Father loves us,
For He calls us His children,
And that is what we are.
When I read that passage,
I'm reminded of how much I'm loved and cared for.
That even when chaos is going all around us,
When we're in a world that just doesn't seem to come together,
That I can always rely on my Heavenly Father,
Who reminds us that we are His children.
And not only does He remind us of that,
But He assures us that that is what we are.
So tonight,
As you prepare to rest,
Take a deep breath in.
Hold it and release.
Let's do that one more time.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold it and release.
As you get comfortable and as you take each inhale and then exhale,
Allow your shoulders to fall away from your ears.
Allow your back to elongate and comfortably relax into your chair or your mattress.
Place your hands in any position that's comfortable for you,
Whether that be on your lap with your hands and palms facing down,
Or whether that be with your palms facing up in a beautiful surrender in this moment.
If you're lying down,
You're in a beautiful surrender.
Or whether that be with your palms facing up in a beautiful surrender in this moment.
If you're lying down,
Maybe your hands are laying on your tummy.
Maybe your hands are on your thighs,
Palms down.
Or maybe your hands are laying on your side,
Palms up.
Just surrendering to this moment.
Surrendering to the peace of this moment.
The safety of this moment.
Breathing in the sacredness of this moment.
Setting your intention,
Setting it in peace,
In rest.
Intending to prepare yourself for a calm,
Peaceful,
And restful evening.
See how much our Father loves us?
For he calls us his children.
And that is what we are.
As you rest in the presence of our Heavenly Father,
Remember who you are.
No matter what the day tried to tell you today about who it wanted to determine who you were,
You remember who you are.
No matter what the world says or what someone else told you,
You remember who you are.
Because you're loved so very much that the Lord calls you his child.
And that is what you are.
You can rest in that truth.
So as you are comfortable in the presence of the Lord,
Allow yourself to become fully aware of this moment.
Nowhere for you to go,
Nothing for you to do,
But simply be aware and present in this moment.
Remembering that you're valuable,
You're so important.
You are thought about,
You are watched over,
You are loved.
Resting in this moment.
Taking your peace in this moment.
Settling your heart in this moment.
Releasing the cares of the day.
Releasing every concern.
Releasing worry.
Releasing your agenda.
And with each release,
Sinking deeper and deeper into rest,
Into peace,
Into safety,
Into solitude.
See how much our Father loves us?
For he calls us his children,
And that is what we are.
His sacred child,
His love,
His peace rest with you.
You are his child.
That's exactly who you are.
Rest.
Rest.
Rest.
Rest.
Rest.
Allow your limbs to be heavy.
Your arms,
Your legs,
Your head.
Staying present,
Staying in this moment.
Rest.
In this moment,
You don't have to will yourself to rest.
Just be.
Being still.
Being quiet.
No agenda.
Just rest.
See how much our Father loves us?
For he calls us his children,
And that is what we are.
Tonight,
Rest in knowing that you are a loved and sacred child of our Heavenly Father.
Rest and be blessed.
