Welcome to today's practice.

This meditation is meant for women who are pregnant to engage with as they near the end of their pregnancy and the birth of their baby.

It is to foster a deep emotional and spiritual connection with not only their baby but also within their heart chakra where their nurturing and abundant love grows during pregnancy.

With an open heart you are able to give and receive of love.

Take a moment to get comfortable today.

You can do this meditation sitting or lying down.

And it's best done in a quiet place where your baby is free from outside noises and your concentration can be solely with the life within you.

Whatever feels right for your body today,

Do that.

Be gentle and kind.

There's so many aches and pains,

Groaning muscles as you're building and housing that life.

Be gentle to your body.

Rest your hands on your belly and set an intention to connect with your baby today.

You can use this meditation as a guide through each trimester and it can help you prepare for an experience of calm and mindful birth.

From the moment that you found out you were pregnant to where you are at this point during your pregnancy your mind and heart have been preparing for the birth of your baby.

Your baby has been listening to your heartbeat and your voice,

Connecting with you on an internal level and establishing a deep bond with you that no one else will ever experience.

Creating a life is an extraordinary gift.

This baby you have so wanted is living and it's a reminder with every stretch of their tiny feet into your rib cage,

Every twist and roll through your abdomen,

Every bout of hiccups that they have.

They remind you that they're there every moment.

As your hands rest gently on your belly imagine their feet or hands reaching out to touch you,

A physical connection.

Soon those fingers will wrap around yours during feeding sessions.

Those toes will flex when tickled and their face will beam with joy when they see you.

You are their mother.

What an amazing thing to be.

The relationship between mother and child is an incredibly emotional one.

In this moment during pregnancy you may want to send a message to your baby.

Perhaps it is something that you wish for them as they're growing older,

A path that you hope they take,

Or something about you that you want them to know,

An intention,

A message,

A gift.

With each breath you take you breathe life into your uterus and your baby grows stronger.

With each moment you take pause and thanks for your pregnancy your baby receives those messages and compassion.

Gently breathe.

Gently connect.

Your breath happens effortlessly without thought,

Without trying.

And yet it sends such an amazing energy through your body and down to your baby.

Now bring your attention to your heart.

Here in your heart you hold compassion for your baby,

But you also hold compassion and love for yourself as a mother.

The heart chakra is the place where many mothers and women live.

It's abundant,

It's pure,

It's beautiful.

As you travel through the rest of your pregnancy take pause and bring your attention here from time to time.

Being a mother is beautiful and it is also difficult at times.

Hold yourself gently with compassion and know that you are exactly the mother that your child needs and wants.

No matter how much they push back as they grow they will always need you.

You are caring,

Loving,

Nurturing and wonderful.

You are perfect in your own way.

That is what your baby needs.

Remember that and hold on to that with grace.

Be gentle to yourself in times of trouble as a parent.

There's so many decisions to make.

As long as you hold that love,

That compassion for yourself as a mother,

Trust that you know your baby best.

Trust that you are doing the very best for them.

As we end the meditation today return your attention to your baby.

Give thanks for their presence and each kick and wiggle that they give is a reminder of the life within your belly.

Hold them with love and compassion.

Sending them nurturing messages whenever you wish.

You can stay in these moments of connection for as long as you wish and only when it feels right for you and your body.

When you are ready in your own time bring yourself back to present moment and open your eyes.
