Welcome,

I am Susan Sage and today I want to talk to you about the three layers of letting go.

When we have an emotional trauma,

A habit that we keep doing,

An old way of being that we'd really like to move away from,

When we want to let go of some kind of blockage,

There are three layers or three levels to that letting go,

To that healing process.

And when we've moved and let go in all of these three areas,

Then we can be sure that we really have upgraded our vibration,

Upgraded our being,

And are now allowing in a higher level of light.

So I want to go over this with you because I think it's really,

Really,

Really important that we understand the way this all works.

So let's kind of start at the beginning with all of this.

You know,

In an ideal world,

Our energy flow,

The flow of energy through our body should be an effortless flow,

Shouldn't it?

Without any blockages or anything inhibiting it.

The ideal state of ideal health and wellbeing is flow.

That's when our energy is flowing harmoniously and happily and easily and gracefully through our body,

Through our being,

This beautiful sense of flow.

And this is what a lot of our therapies,

Alternative therapies,

And even mainstream therapies are trying to promote,

Trying to help happen.

They're trying to create flow.

They're trying to remove blockages in the chi and create flow.

Think about massage,

Acupressure,

Acupuncture,

Bowing therapy,

Tai chi,

Qigong,

Any kind of yoga or movement that gets the energy flowing.

You know,

Chiropractors and physiotherapists and all different other forms of healing,

Of working with the body are all ways to generate this flow because when the energy is flowing in our body,

When the blockages have been removed and the energy is flowing beautifully,

That is our ultimate state of wellbeing,

Our ultimate state of health.

And we all want to be,

Right?

We all want to be at that beautiful,

Beautiful space.

But the reality is not many of us are there because what happens,

You see,

Is that when energy flows and we feel,

You know,

We're in the present moment and energy is flowing,

And then what can happen is something shows up in our present moment that we don't know how to deal with.

We suddenly have all these feelings that we don't want to feel.

Maybe we don't feel comfortable expressing them or feeling them.

Maybe we're embarrassed about feeling them.

We don't know what to do with them and we don't like them.

We judge them as being bad or wrong and we don't want that flow to continue.

So we put a rock in that river to stop the flow.

And over the course of our lifetime,

We put many of these rocks in our river because the present moment is going to bring all sorts of different interesting experiences to us.

But if we are perceiving that they are not right,

They are wrong,

They are bad or whatever,

And we're having an emotional reaction and then we don't know what to do with that emotion and how to work that through,

Then we're going to block that flow.

Another way we do that is as something happens in our present moment and we feel things we're not really comfortable with feeling,

We can then blame those things on somebody else.

You did this to me.

This is your fault.

This is the government's fault.

This is astrology's fault.

This is,

You know,

Whatever it might be,

Is a way we put a rock in.

We don't want to feel this.

We're not going to own it.

We're going to,

You know,

Project it,

Blame it over there.

And another way,

Of course,

Is to deny or avoid that we're feeling this way.

We start to feel something,

Something starts to arise within us and we then go and get something to eat or we have a drink or we scroll through Facebook or whatever,

Anything to not feel that feeling.

However,

Any of these actions blocks the flow.

Literally what we're doing is putting a rock in there and saying,

No,

This present moment isn't okay.

Don't want to feel this.

And I'm going to stop that flow from happening.

And you can see in an actual river,

If you go look at a river flowing,

If there is a rock put in that river,

Then the water has to try to move around that rock.

And what happens is that as the water is flowing past the rock,

It creates this little swirling vortex around the rock,

Which is called an eddy.

So as the water tries to flow past the rock,

It has to kind of move in a certain way that creates a little spiral next to the rock.

And that's called an eddy.

And we can see this in any river if you go and have a look.

Now,

Similar things happens in our body,

You see.

So if we've got a rock in there,

We don't want to feel this thing.

Then the energy,

Our energy is going to try to flow up and pass it.

And as it's doing so,

It's going to circulate in that area.

The energy is not going to be able to move freely.

There's going to be a little pocket of circulating energy there.

And in Indian philosophy,

They call this a samskara.

So it's a trapped emotional energy that is swirling within your energy system.

So every time you're in a similar situation or lots of different situations can trigger that little swirling blocked emotional energy you've got in there,

And it can start to become active again.

And this can happen at many different times in our lives.

And these little swirling pockets of energy can go dormant for a really long time until they finally get triggered again by some event that happens.

And every time that little swirling vortex of energy becomes active in your vibration,

You're aware of it,

You're feeling it.

That's your opportunity to let it go.

And we're given these opportunities constantly,

Aren't we?

We're constantly getting triggered.

So that swirling little vortex of energy inside us,

That's there because,

Again,

We didn't want to feel something.

We consciously or unconsciously pushed it down,

Put a rock in that flow.

That swirling vortex of energy,

That samskara is both thought and feeling.

So it's all the thoughts and beliefs.

Very,

Very simple,

Can be very childish thoughts,

Can just be really even kind of quite insane thoughts.

And they are going around and around,

And the thoughts generate the feeling,

The feeling generates the thoughts,

And there they go swirling around in our body.

When we get triggered,

Those thoughts start coming back again,

That feeling starts coming back again,

And we start swirling through this mental emotional blockage that we've got going on in there.

Now,

What happens is over the course of our lifetime,

We end up with many,

Many different rocks,

Not just the one rock in our flow,

But many rocks.

We've not wanted to feel lots of different things.

We've misunderstood many different situations as the present moment has presented them to us.

We've perceived them as being wrong,

As being bad,

And we've not wanted to feel certain things.

And we've got lots of rocks in there.

And as the energy is trying to move through our system,

It's got to distort itself around all of these rocks that we've placed in our flow.

And that distortion creates the lens that we then look out of and into the world.

So we are seeing the world through this lens,

Which is all of our,

I'll call it stuff,

All of our stuff we are seeing through that lens.

So I might say I'll be seeing a particular situation through my lens due to all the rocks in my river and all the samskaras I've got in my energy system.

I'll be seeing a situation through my lens and you would see the same situation through your lens.

It could be a totally different perspective that we each have of the same thing.

That's my reality,

My world,

Your reality,

Your world.

And we're all walking around in these energy systems,

Which have all these distortions.

And that's how we're all seeing everything so differently and getting offended by something that someone else wouldn't even get bothered about and vice versa.

We really are seeing what we are.

It's not really happening to us.

It's kind of coming from us because of the way that we perceive situations is how we're creating our reality.

We see it in a particular way due to what we've got in there.

And if we just maintain seeing it in that same way through that same lens of all of our stuff,

If we just keep seeing it like that,

We'll just keep experiencing a similar kind of thing.

So this is the situation that 99.

9% of human beings find themselves now on this planet.

We have energy systems filled with a lot of rocks and there's a lot of stuff in there that gets triggered as we go through our day to day experience.

Somebody says something and offends us.

We see something on social media,

We get angry,

You know,

Different things are triggering these samskaras and bringing them active.

And as one samskara becomes active in your energy body,

It can start triggering off a whole lot of other ones.

And so you find that you're sometimes getting in this emotional overwhelm or feeling there's so much going on because you've got so many different feelings and so many different areas.

So what is the solution here?

Let's talk about the three layers of letting go.

Okay,

So the first layer is a physical level or what you could call like the gross level,

If you like,

If you want to use that terminology at the physical level,

When we get triggered,

When one of those samskaras gets poked at,

We see that seems to happen right from what we're experiencing.

We start to feel it on a physical level.

We have sensations in our body,

Maybe hot or cold,

Sweating,

Faster breathing,

Different things go on.

We feel,

We get the feelings come up,

The emotions come up and,

You know,

We can have some physical symptoms.

So that is what's happening on a physical level.

There is that physical experience of this samskara.

There's also the mental level of this or what you could also call the subtle level.

So we've got our thoughts that go along with those feelings and emotions,

The thoughts that just seem to happen alongside them.

The thoughts kind of generate them as well.

You've got the feeling,

The thought,

The feeling,

The thought,

The perceptions that we have on that level,

How we're perceiving what is happening,

How we're writing that story.

You know,

We are seeing the events of our life through our own lens and we're making a story about that.

The story can go all the way back to our childhood.

When I was young,

This is what happened in my family.

And this has always happened to me.

And now it's happening to me now.

And why is this never happening?

And this is what my life is like.

And this is what it has always been like.

And la,

La,

La,

La.

That's the story that is imbued and entangled with those feelings,

Emotions,

Sensations,

And physical symptoms and all the beliefs about it.

You know,

I'm not good enough.

I've never been good enough.

I'm not worthy.

And whatever it might be,

The beliefs that go along with that.

So they are all together.

They are connected.

But there's these two levels of it.

And we can start to get more clarity as we start to see this.

So then the third level is something we're not usually conscious of.

We're not really aware of unless we are on a spiritual journey.

And we're really thinking about this.

And we're wanting to let go of our traumas and stuff to feel better.

Right.

So that at a soul level,

The soul level for having the experience that you're having that's difficult is that you are learning something from that.

It's coming in for you.

It's not another way of another little quote you can or saying is it's happening for you,

Not to you.

Just the same way as it's coming from you,

Not at you.

It's happening for you.

You chose all of this stuff because you wanted to learn from it on a soul level.

But we conveniently forget about that because it's way back there in our unconscious mind.

And we tend to go into the victim way of looking at things,

Which is it's happening to me.

And what do I do?

I'm stuck.

But if we want to move through this,

If we want to really let go of whatever this trauma,

This issue,

This habit,

This block,

The struggle,

This challenge is,

This is the third level we must come to about it.

We must choose to let go of our old story and really step into why our soul chose this.

You know,

Really,

Really tuning in about that.

What is the reason why I'm experiencing this on a soul level?

What am I getting out of it?

What is it teaching me?

How is it seeking to grow me?

Rather than the perspective of this is not fair.

Why is this happening to me?

Life is so unfair.

This must be a horrible universe.

You know,

How can God be real if this is going on?

I don't know.

Anything else like that feeling in any way victimized by your circumstance is going to bind you to it.

And that's the annoying thing about it.

We've got to rise to understand,

Or at least be open to understanding the karmic reasons for why we are having this experience.

And there can actually be karma being balanced out.

If you feel like you're being abused,

For example,

There might have been a time and another lifetime,

Another time space continuum where you were the abuser,

And you need to feel what it's like to be on the other side of that to really balance out your energy,

To really motivate you to grow and to step into the next level and the next transformational journey for yourself.

You know,

We can never,

Ever judge why somebody is going through a particular experience because we don't know where they're at on a soul level.

Somebody going through like having a lot of money,

For example,

And we look at them,

We think,

Oh,

My God,

They've got it so easy.

They've got all this money.

They've never had to do anything for it.

They can just travel here.

They travel there.

They look like they're living a life of luxury.

We do not know what other experiences they've had on their soul history.

They might have just come out of a deep poverty lifetime,

A deep,

Deep place of extreme limitation.

And now they get to experience the other side of that.

And maybe the next lifetime will be one of balance.

You know,

We don't know,

Right?

But for you,

It's about feeling out what it is that your soul is really learning from this.

How is it happening for you?

Okay,

So those three levels and layers of letting go the physical level.

So when we feel a trigger,

We feel it at the physical level with sensations,

Feeling emotion and physical symptoms at the mental level.

That samskara is thoughts,

Perceptions,

Beliefs and stories that perpetuate those feelings.

And on a soul level,

There's the deeper reason why we're having this experience.

Now,

Here's how the healing happens on each of these levels.

So on the physical level,

The healing comes when we feel,

When we listen,

When we understand and surrender and let that feeling be there.

Because remember,

The opposite to that is how it got stuck in there.

We didn't want to feel it.

The present moment was happening and we said,

Oh,

No way.

No,

Thank you.

I do not want to feel that.

We are not going there.

That is not right.

That is not what I wanted.

That is not what I ordered.

I don't like this.

I'm going to chuck a rock in there and,

You know,

Project,

Blame,

Deny,

Avoid,

Whatever I can do to not feel this thing.

We've got to do the opposite.

A trigger gets activated.

We can feel it.

Oh,

We can feel it.

It's in our solar plexus,

In our heart,

It's in our throat,

Wherever you feel it.

You know,

Now is your opportunity.

Growth.

This is the exciting bit.

You get to expand.

You get to let go here.

You get to take this cue from the universe that's knocking at your door saying,

Hello,

Are you ready to heal this yet?

Are you ready to feel this yet?

Are you ready to move this through?

We'll keep coming back if you're not,

But here's your opportunity now.

Will you take it this time?

And if you're wise,

And if you can,

And if you have capacity,

Then you can say,

Yes,

I want to,

I want love more than I want to keep going around and around in this.

I want to feel this.

I want to move this through.

I want to heal.

I want to feel better.

I want to feel lighter.

I want to feel happier.

Yes,

Let's do it.

And then what you do is you just take that rock out and feel.

Let the stream move.

Let that feeling be there.

Listen to it.

What does it say?

What are the thoughts coming out of it?

You know,

Really listening,

Really hearing,

Really understanding,

You know,

Because that part of you that's feeling that way is feeling that way because it's almost like a time capsule.

You know,

Something happened in your life at some point that you never got to process or understand properly.

And so all you could do was what you could do at that point.

You didn't have the resources to do anything else,

And you didn't know how to cope with it,

And that was fine,

Right?

So you understand there's a part of you feeling this particular way.

Those feelings are moving.

And of course,

You felt that way,

Given where you were at and what happened.

And that's okay.

You get it.

You understand.

You love yourself.

You forgive yourself.

You hear and listen to that feeling.

Surrender to it.

As though you are in the sea and the ocean,

And you're lying down,

Like sinking back into the water underneath the waves.

And the waves are,

You know,

Rolling over top of you,

And you're underneath them.

So the water's moving,

And you're just allowing this energy to roll over you,

To roll through you.

No resistance.

No resistance.

And we have no resistance by using forgiveness,

By using understanding,

And also by not having any judgment about that feeling.

It's not bad.

It's not wrong.

It's really,

If we take all the labels away from it,

It's just a vibration.

It's just a hum or a zing or a fizz,

You know,

In your energy system.

There's nothing bad about it.

And if we just allow it to be,

It will move,

And it will start moving up.

And this is what happens.

It starts moving up your energetic system,

Up your body,

Up that central column that is in the middle of your body,

Where all your chakras are coming out of.

This energy will start to want to move up and out.

Now,

On the mental level,

We need to see the situation from a higher perspective and change our thoughts and beliefs and story about it in order to really be able to let that physical thing go and through.

Because if you think about it,

You can lie there,

And you can relax,

And you can surrender,

And you can let go,

And you can have all that positive intention to do that.

But if you're not letting go of the story,

If you're not willing to see this situation from a higher perception,

A higher perspective,

Then you're just going to keep recreating it,

You know,

Because the perception and the beliefs,

They are hand in hand with the feelings and the emotions and the physical symptoms.

So if you can't let go of one,

You're going to have the other,

Basically.

So you've got to also be willing to change your thoughts about it,

About whatever it is,

Whatever experience is causing this feeling,

Your perception of it,

And your beliefs about it,

And the stories you continually tell about it.

You need to upgrade all of those things.

And this can happen easily and effortlessly as you just start to want to see this differently,

To want to see it from a higher perspective.

Think of the most loving,

Most benevolent,

Most graceful,

Most giving,

Most generous,

Most serene,

Most beautiful human being you could possibly imagine,

And imagine how they would look at this situation.

For example,

How your higher self would see this.

What would their viewpoint be of this situation?

How can you see this all from a higher perspective?

And in doing so,

You can start to shift your beliefs about it.

You can start to change your story about it.

And that is how we let go on this mental level.

We're letting the samskara through,

Not only on that physical level,

But also on that mental level too.

And to complete the healing,

We need to bring in that soul level.

The healing comes when we accept the reason for having this experience in the first place,

For this trigger,

And why it's always had to be in our life,

And understand that it's all happening for us so that we can return to inner peace.

Nothing has gone wrong in the universe.

There's no spanner.

There's no spanner in the works.

You know,

There's no like fog that's come out of the gears of the system that has caused this to happen.

And it's not all everything turning flat on its face.

It is all perfectly happening as ordered in divine plan,

In divine timing.

It's all as it's meant to be.

This experience is happening for you,

For you,

Orchestrated by the larger aspect of your being in order to usher you into higher consciousness,

In order to show you where you're blocked,

In order to motivate you to heal,

In order to get you to see things from a higher perspective.

So when we can come to peace with the universe and know,

Actually,

Everything is okay.

I am truly where I'm meant to be.

And this experience is what I'm meant to be experiencing.

I'm safe.

Nothing's gone wrong.

I can relax.

And I can let that go.

And that's how you're letting go on that soul level.

Not this clinging on feeling of,

I shouldn't be experiencing this.

Something has gone wrong.

Why is this happening to me?

I hate it.

I don't want it.

I'm resisting it.

You know,

All of that kind of energy is holding the issue in place.

I promise you.

And we see this a lot with long-term illnesses.

Long-term illnesses,

People do not want to accept it.

And unfortunately,

That just maintains it.

But when we can come to peace with exactly as it is right now,

That is how we become open for letting that flow through.

Do you understand what I'm saying?

It happens on all these three levels.

Now,

The cool thing about this is that you can jump in on any level here.

You don't have to start at the physical level when you are wanting to release something,

Some blockage from your being.

You can if you want,

But you can also start on the soul level.

You can say,

Okay,

I keep having this experience.

This relationship trigger,

Let's say,

For example,

This person keeps offending me.

I keep getting offended.

I keep getting really hurt by the things they're saying.

And in fact,

I did as well with the previous relationship that I was in.

And in fact,

I can think of other times in my life when I've been like that too.

So what is this trying to teach me?

How is my soul trying to use this experience to grow?

What are the gifts that are trying to come through this experience?

And we can open to that,

Which opens us to the mental level,

The higher perspective.

How would my guides see this situation?

How would my high self see this situation?

What are the beliefs that I have that keep bringing it to me?

What is my story?

I keep telling everybody.

And how is that perpetuating this experience?

Really letting that soul level leak into the mental level,

So that as you start to feel better and at peace,

That this is happening all in divine timing.

It's happening for you.

Nothing's gone wrong.

This is okay.

This is where I'm meant to be.

My soul is learning from this so I can relax into it.

I can start to look at the mental level.

What is the higher perspective of this?

And as we start to come to a higher perspective of this particular situation,

We can start to also let go.

And not be so upset and so resistant when those feelings start to emerge in the future.

You know,

When the feeling comes back again,

Because we've started to let go on those higher levels,

We have a higher perception about it.

We're not so angry about it.

We don't have such a high judgment of it.

We're like,

Oh,

Okay,

Here's this issue.

Here's this feeling.

Let me give it space to move.

Let me breathe.

Let me relax.

I know this is just old energy moving right now.

And I can just relax and I can let it go.

You know,

I mean,

I've often taught that we start at the physical level.

And the course that I have on here,

Release and transform your stuff into love.

Goes through how to let go.

And it starts with the physical level.

It starts with feeling the sensations in your body that have been triggered due to whatever you've been living.

Feeling those sensations first,

Then listening to the mental level,

Listening to what's coming out of those sensations.

And then allowing those feelings to move through your body,

Surrendering,

Letting go,

Letting it move,

Being willing to forgive,

Being willing to see it differently,

Upgrading,

Upgrading as that energy moves through.

And as you're doing so,

Also you're kind of coming to peace with the situation and learning how it's been growing you and teaching you.

And in the end,

You end up being grateful for all of the challenges that you've been through,

Because they end up really that they are the things that really make us who we are in the lighter sense.

Though they transform us into the lighter aspect of ourselves.

Don't we?

Don't they?

They are gifts.

They are gifts.

They really are.

And if we keep blocking them from expressing and from really learning,

We keep blocking the message is what I'm trying to say.

We block the gift that's trying to come to us through that old feeling,

That old trigger.

Every time it starts to knock on your door,

It is an opportunity to rise,

An opportunity to embody wisdom.

And when you let go and let it through,

You are upgrading your whole energetic system,

Because as that old energy moves,

What takes its place?

Higher vibration,

Love,

Light,

New stories,

New,

Lighter,

More beautiful,

More limitless stories,

Beliefs,

Energies that are then going to be the blueprint,

The foundation of your reality.

There is nothing more important than doing this work,

Honestly.

So let's summarize this before we finish this today.

So the three layers of letting go,

Physical.

It's all about feeling,

Understanding,

Surrendering and letting it through at that level.

Mental,

Seeing it from a higher perspective and changing our thoughts,

Our beliefs and our story about it.

So important.

And at the soul level,

We're accepting the reason why it's here.

It was here or has been.

We understand it's happening for us and we're able to return to peace.

There's nothing wrong.

There's nothing bad.

I'm not being attacked.

It's all happening perfectly for me.

I'm safe.

I'm loved.

I'm one with the universal energies with this one field of loving intelligence that is.

And this is the way that this loving intelligence is offering me an opportunity for growth by just gently,

And sometimes not that gently,

Triggering me,

Like showing me where I'm blocked so I can let go.

So I can come more into harmony with my higher aspect,

With my higher self.

And I can start to really embody that and be that in this world.

That is what this journey is about.

It's about the embodiment of light and love.

Not just a concept that we think about,

That we read about,

That sounds really pretty,

But actually embodying it.

And we do that through this kind of letting go.

Thank you Susan that was really helpful. Three layers to letting go made so much sense to me. Take home bit for me was at some point in my life i could have been the cause..heartache for someone else not intentionally maybe unconsciously sort of like Karma am i right. That made sense to me difficult to take on board but it really helped. Is that the mental or the Soul level. I am going through a challenging period right now so your talk has helped me to shift things a bit. Will be listening to more of your work. Thank you thank you๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜˜
