Hi,
If you're feeling overwhelmed or anxious at the moment,
I just want to reach through this camera and give you a huge hug and say to you,
You are so not alone.
This is an intense time on the planet.
And what I want to do in this video is do some EFT tapping together to help take the edge off the anxiety you may be experiencing,
Perhaps to shine the light of consciousness a little bit on what is exacerbating it,
Making it worse,
And help you attune a sense within that you can come home to,
That you can know that any time the anxiety gets triggered,
You're not a victim to it,
That you have choice.
Inevitably when we get anxious,
And I've been anxious myself for the last couple of days,
We're telling a story onto the future,
Expecting worst-case scenarios,
Thinking we're not going to be able to cope,
Perhaps we're going to let somebody down,
What are the other things,
You know,
That we're not going to finish some work we've got to do or that we're not going to be able to handle all these crazy thoughts going through our heads?
And EFT tapping is one of the best ways I've found to just soften around that stuff and to come home to ourselves,
To our own energy flow and to just re-establish some grounded presence and calm and peace so that we can feel the difference between the anxiety and the more peaceful state.
So let's do it,
Shall we?
So I'd love you to just start by noticing how anxious you feel in this moment.
Usually it's good to just judge it on a scale of 0 to 10,
Just guess what your number might be.
Mine's about,
I think it's about a four at the moment because I just did a couple of rounds of tapping.
And then I'd also love you to identify.
What the situation or circumstance is that's triggering the anxiety for you.
In other words,
Do you have an event coming up and you think,
Oh my gosh,
I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to manage or handle it?
Are you telling a story about yourself as being somebody who doesn't handle stress well or isn't going to be able to deliver on a deadline?
Whatever it is,
Just make a mental note of that.
And we're just going to do a couple of cycles,
Three actually,
Of physiological sigh breathing,
Because it's a great way to start to recalibrate the nervous system.
We're going to breathe in through the nose,
And then take another sip of air at the top,
And then we're going to sigh it out.
So let's do it together.
Breathing in.
Take a sip.
And then sigh it out.
Ah.
Let's do that again,
Breathing in.
Really filling your lungs up.
Take an extra sip.
And let it go.
And on this last one,
Let's hum on the out-breath.
So breathing in.
.
.
Taking that delicious sip.
Now Hamad out.
Aum and then just let your breathing come back into whatever rhythm it wants to.
You might notice that your body's already relaxed a little.
The anxiety edges have already softened,
Even a tiny bit in three breaths.
So let's go to the karate chat point.
Tapping here,
We say.
.
.
Even though I'm feeling so anxious.
I choose to deeply love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I'm feeling anxious about the future.
And here you can put in your own situation,
Your own reason why the anxiety feels so intense right now.
And then we say,
I forgive myself.
For being so stressed about this.
And finally,
Let's say,
Even though I'm feeling anxious and overwhelmed,
I'm open to finding my way back.
To groundedness.
And peace.
And calm.
Take a breath.
Hmm.
Okay,
Let's go to the eyebrow point.
Tapping here we say,
This feeling of anxiety.
Side of the eye.
I feel so triggered and stirred up.
Under the eye.
I just don't know how I'm going to be able to cope.
I feel so overwhelmed.
Thinking about this situation causes me so much stress.
I could really use a hug.
In here,
This is a wonderful place to tap when you feel anxious,
Even just feeling the feeling of the anxiety.
Tapping on the collarbone point with both hands like this and taking some deep breaths.
It's such a kind,
Loving way of giving yourself a hug.
Hmm.
All of these feelings of anxiety and overwhelm.
And let's just say here I deeply honor myself for feeling this way.
Good.
And just take a breath.
Bring your awareness into your body and just notice how you feel.
See if that number on a scale of 0 to 10 dropped at all during that round of tapping.
Let's go back to the karate chop point and we are going to say even though I'm imagining worst case scenarios.
And telling myself stories about past anxious times.
I choose to deeply love and trust myself now.
Even though sometimes I get so anxious I can't breathe properly.
And I just don't know where to turn.
My thoughts race.
And you know,
Maybe you find yourself reaching for an addiction,
Right?
Something to soothe yourself in the face of all this.
Let's just say,
I acknowledge that I am a human being.
At a pretty challenging time in my life.
At a pretty challenging time on the planet.
And I offer myself deep compassion in this moment.
I really am doing my best.
Even though I feel overwhelmed at times with anxiety.
And it can be so scary.
I'm open to the possibility.
That the future is unfolding.
In a way that's so much kinder than I've imagined.
With support.
And beautiful moments of wonder.
And gratitude.
And resources.
That help me feel like my relaxed.
Comfortable self again.
Okay,
Take another breath.
Hmmmm.
.
.
Good.
And now let's just move into some tapping that opens up some new possibilities.
Okay,
So yes,
I'm feeling anxious.
But I'm ready to feel a shift.
I'm open to coming home to myself in this moment.
And discovering that right now,
Things aren't quite as bad as I was imagining.
I choose to center my awareness in my heart space.
To breathe beautiful love and kindness into this space.
To acknowledge myself.
And celebrate myself.
And be oh so gentle with myself.
Because sometimes I just need a break from it all.
And I choose to gift myself that right now.
Good.
Let's take another breath.
Sigh it out and then close your eyes.
And just simply breathe softly in your own skin.
Noticing what you feel.
If anxiety is swirling around still,
You wrap your arms around it.
You just give yourself permission to feel what you're feeling.
If you're feeling a bit of a shift.
Feeling perhaps a little bit more calm.
Allow yourself for a moment to daydream.
Into a possibility.
Of what could go right for you next.
Perhaps a situational challenge you're facing.
Could be resolved with more universal support and love.
Then your heart could even dream up.
Perhaps you could discover that the story you've told about yourself of being someone who doesn't handle stress well.
It actually isn't true.
Perhaps you could give yourself real kudos for something you've done recently that was difficult.
Where you feel proud of yourself.
No matter how big or small.
Not just yet,
But in a moment,
I invite you to open your eyes and I'll invite you to look out.
As that deeper,
Truer,
More essential aspect of who you are.
Looking around you.
To notice more of the wonder.
More of the comfort in this moment,
More of the peace and ease.
So I'm going to count from three down to one and then we'll open our eyes.
Three.
Two,
And one.
Arriving back here.
With perhaps having experienced a shift.
A new perspective on yourself on this situation.
A new willingness to drop the old identity of anxiety that feelings state.
And to notice something else taking its place.
Perhaps a sense of resilience.
Perhaps a smidgen of self-trust or trusting in the universe.
Perhaps just a sense of upliftment.
Like,
Oh wait.
Actually,
Things aren't as bad as I thought.
And I've always got these beautiful fingertips to tap with whenever I feel challenged or stressed or anxious.
So as we wind down this session,
I just invite you to carry with you any sense of peace or calm as a kind of embodied inner experience.
Into whatever you step into next in this day or this evening,
This night.
And I offer you my love and my blessings.
May you deeply trust and know that you are safe.
You are loved.
And they're all as well.
