Morning,
Good afternoon,
Good evening.
So I'm going to read a very short extract.
This is from Eugene Gendling,
Focusing,
And it's going to be our theme for this session.
What is split off and not felt remains the same.
When it is felt,
It changes.
A few moments of feeling it in your body allows it to change.
So if there is in you something bad or sick or unsound,
Let it inwardly breathe and be.
That's the only way it can evolve and change into the form it needs to.
But we don't go into it to try to change it.
In fact,
The next time I read that,
I might leave the change out.
Samui.
We've got a project.
Really,
We go back to Djoko,
Charlotte Djoko Beck's thing,
I just feel it.
Just be curious.
What's it feel like?
So if you just joined us.
.
.
What we're doing is turning inward.
And notice something.
Uncomfortable,
Emotionally,
A sadness.
A feeling of loneliness.
And anxiety.
Or maybe a heaviness or a tension somewhere.
Often as a background something.
Just something,
Just.
.
.
That we normally overlook.
We're just going to spend time with it.
Not trying to change it.
Just keep it company.
Because we often try to either push them away,
Punish them.
Or become overwhelmed,
Or we try to avoid.
And this is what the Buddha called the Middle Way.
Just hear with it,
Just feel it.
I suggest just for a minute or two to start off with your eyes open.
If they want to close after a while that's fine.
And you settle into your body.
Your being.
I'm not racing off anywhere.
So there's absolutely no rush.
Was staying right here.
There might be something left over from sleep or dreams.
Something in the psyche,
In the body.
Maybe from work.
Whatever it is.
And maybe.
.
.
A deep sadness,
A grief.
Can you just turn towards it?
Without judgment.
If there is judgement,
OK,
Don't judge that.
Just feeling what is here.
What we feel we heal.
But don't try to heal anything.
Your awareness or presence.
There's the heavy lifting for you.
Stay out of the way.
Now try to work it out.
I'm trying to find the reason why.
Just hello.
Let it reveal itself.
Divine self-honour.
A thought ride?
Just get off.
She's thinking.
In this search,
You shall find the four.
Then we return back to the body.
And feel the breath if that helps.
Breathe with this.
Nothing needs to happen.
Don't fall into that trap.
Be curious.
Or the fail line.
Don't need to list it.
More experiential.
Walk around it.
Touch it.
The texture.
What's going on?
Now we have this something,
Maybe a sadness or whatever.
It may have changed,
May not.
Maybe physical discomfort.
Like a tight chest or whatever.
I would like you to expand your awareness.
So to speak.
And notice the space around it.
Is that hurting?
Is that uncomfortable?
What is the hands and the feet?
Most of our experience.
Is not uncomfortable.
What is the mind?
Convinces us that that's the case.
So we don't listen to the mind.
We go direct.
Now just rest your attention on the breath.
Very light,
Like a cork on water.
So you sit in presence.
Can be more intimate with presence,
With being.
Where's the attention right now?
This is all you need to do.
Just pay attention.
Experience what's actually here.
And we stop believing our thoughts You naturally fall in love with presence.
This is what happens.
We lose interest in self-centered thinking.
What's happening?
Okay,
You can open your eyes at that close,
Bring this session to a close.
Come a little stretch.
It doesn't take a long time to come out of it because we're not,
You know,
We're staying very aware.
Are you awake?
Okay,
Thank you.
Have a good day.
Bye.
